Re: Brentwood Country Club BRIDES
I got something in the mail yesterday for an open show case at Wedding World tonight from 5-8pm. They're giving away a free honeymoon vacation and you can meet with everyone there, including the DJ.I spoke with my FH this morning and he said he would rather buy our wedding bands tonight at Kay's before the snow falls and the sale ends at the store, so we'll probably be at the mall doing that instead of going, but who knows....he may change his mind when he gets home this afternoon.

We bought our wedding bands last night at Kay's in Lake Grove. We worked with Charlotte, the manager, and she made sure we were happy with everything and we got the rings on sale w/the Valentine's Day sale! YAY! The diamond enhancer is mine and the plain band is his! We're also getting them engraved. Do you think I should use my maiden name or my married name?

Absolutely beautiful...I would get your married name...what were you thinking about inscribing? You may not need to put last names...

Re: Brentwood Country Club BRIDES
Ok. So I will be honest since I know many of you may want to discuss some of these things with them before your big day.Coat check: There was no one there half the time and we actually went in and hung up our own coats and then got them at the end of the night ourselves too.
Cocktail hour: I felt like there was not enough food. ONce the carving stations dwindled down, it did not seem as though they were going to replace it and the guy stood there with like a tiny strip of beef and turkey left. What I did eat was good, but I was still hungry after the Ch which is strange. Oh I will say the penne ala vodka was dilicious! I had like 2 helpings of it. I also did not like the fact that they had all the tables for the CH room in this other separate room, which was a section of the main ballroom. They made an annoucement for us to go in the lobby, where we stood for like 15 mintues waiting for them to finish setting up the room and pulling the curtain back.
Dinner: I had the prime rib and it was yummy. FH had the same and liked it too. My friend had the chicken and said it was very dry. Oh she had fruit cup when you first came in...also very yummy and the salad was very good as well.
DJ: I thought he did a good job. They seemed to be playing what was requested by the bride and groom and there were many people dancing. I thought they may have played a few too many slow songs though. but that may have been by request.
Cake: I didnt eat any, but heard it was very good. I took a picture but I have to DL it to the laptop.
Overall I had a good time, there was some drama that lead to be getting into an argument with FH so I think that kinda ruined my night, but if it werent for that I would definitely say I enjoyed myself. It looks very pretty from the outside and theCH room was very 'homey'

Re: Brentwood Country Club BRIDES
Thanks Jen, I agree about the CH not having enough food, that is why I am upgrading and adding additional dishes and a seafood bar (shrimp, oysters, clams). The time of year that I am getting married will allow me to have the CH outside, it is more open for the guests...I hope it doesn't rain...Thanks for letting me know about the coat check..Do you remember what chicken dish it was?

Re: Brentwood Country Club BRIDES
Thanks for the honesty Jen! I'll remember what you said about the CH as my day draws nearer. We're hoping to have ours outside on the patio. I'm surprised by the coat check, but hopefully no one will need one in September at mine! What was the chicken dish the person had? I can't wait to see the pictures!!! THANK YOU for giving us your opinion! Every little bit helps!

Ask the DJ for a list of songs that could be used for father-daughter dancing. DJ's are most helpful in matters like these. OR, go to www.amazon.com and type in wedding music or father-daughter music and they'll give you lots of options to choose from.
Sorry to hear about the honeymoon experience and I will take that advice to heart!!

The CP could also be the taste of that bride, but I'll ask the florist when we meet with them.

We only had 6 at our table.. so Im not sure. I think 10 would have been fine. The centerpieces only had like a dozen flowers in them.
