Bridal Bootcamp!!!

Hey girls,

With 4 months to go , flabby everything and an insatiable appettite, I have decided that i HAVE to get in shape.

Any recommendations for Boot Camps or reasonably priced Personal Training Classes/packages/Programs?

ETA: Preferably in NYC or Queens

Re: Bridal Bootcamp!!!

If you have Fit TV... watch Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred on demand. Its an awesome workout and you will be in pain for like 2 days. If you can get passed it, it will get better. Promise. As for Bootcamp, you can try NYSC, they have one, but I think its a bit pricey. For that, you may be able to invest in a personal trainer for a bit. Or some health clubs do have classes titled Boot Camp, which are also great.

Good Luck!

ITA!!!!!!!!!! I use the free video on demand Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, too. I don't really need to lose that much weight. I just wanted to firm up, but I have lost 10 lbs in 6 weeks. That's without going on a diet. I don't go crazy, but if I want a piece of chocolate or ice cream, I will indulge. I guarentee that you will lose weight with her program!!!

Re: Bridal Bootcamp!!!

is the 30 day shred one work out or a series of workouts? DO you just DVR it once and do it every day? Any idea if i can get this somewhere else if my cable company does not have it .. like a dvd or something?

There are three levels that increase in difficulty. Right now, I just do level one each day... So you can just tape level one once and do that on a daily basis. It's the same workout each day. Once you don't face imminent death at the end of the workout (lol) I guess move on to level two. Haven't made it there yet!

on my cable i dont have to tape it, its always there. but she does sell the series on DVD, its fairly cheap. the only thing it that the on demand channel doesnt have level 3, if i even make it there. but they have level 1 eand level 2. my freind told me to do level one for 10 days straight, level two for the next 10 days and then level 3 for the last 10 days.

Re: Bridal Bootcamp!!!

I have heard good stuff about this program too...I am a trainer...and i just want to add that...you should never be sore..if you work out to the point taht you are sore the next day, you are not doing your body any benefit, b/c instead of your muscles gaining strenghth , your body is busy repairing itself, so you are doing more damage than good. My advice take it easy for a while and gradually add intensity, weight and duration....

Re: Bridal Bootcamp!!!

I just signed up with a gym yesterday and everytime you go to the gym you have a trainer with you and you have a nutritionist. The trainer is one on one and he makes sure you are using the equipment properly. send me a mail if you want more details

Re: Bridal Bootcamp!!!

I recommend the 10 week program at CKO...there is one in Brooklyn and LI (and NJ) it is kickboxing, personal training and nutrition help. THe program is geared so you will lose body fat. Its intense. Im only 2 weeks in and I see a big difference already
