BRIDAL DRESS BUDGET

BRIDAL DRESS BUDGET

How much have you girls budgeted for your bridal gown? alterations? accessories?

I am hoping/planning on keeping the budget to $1k for dress and alterations. I hope I am not dreaming.....

Just wondering what the average cost was. When I told FH last night that was my budget, I thought he would be happy...instead he was shocked at how LOW it was....he said, you can spend more on your dress if you want...we will find other ways to save money. I was shocked! Then, he asked me the average price and I guessed at $2k...but I really dont know....

So....what is the general price range you ladies are looking at?

THANKS!!!

Re: BRIDAL DRESS BUDGET

the price of my dress was lower than i thought it was going to be and it needs very little alterations-that is if i don't lose anymore weight, but there is a cap on alterations of $250 i think. So my dress, alterations, and the bustle should all come in at $1K which is what i had budgeted just for my dress, which my mom has offered to pay for.

my best friend paid for my veil as a gift from her kids, so all i have to find is a small tiara or headband

my parents are paying for all of that stuff, from head to toe whatever im wearing....i think my mom said she want to pay no more than $3K for everything...i doubt it will cost that much...

she said for a dress, she'd want me to keep it $1800 or less.

My mom is paying for my gown, veil, headpiece and alterations. I believe my budget for all is around $3K. I'll have to verify that with her though.

my mom is paying for it all as well....we originally budgeted for 3k for everything.

however, my dress, veil and alterations/bustle will all come to about 1700...and the headpiece I want is about $350 (unless i can find it cheaper)....so everything will be just at about 2K

Re: BRIDAL DRESS BUDGET

my mom is buying my dressand we had originally planned on 3k for the dress.... but honestly, if anyones looking for a big call gown with lots of beading. emboidery, etc., its kinda difficult to find at that price (i must say that i did find some nice maggie's but shes known for the lace up back, which i didnt really like on me)

alterations vary from store to store (im paying 500 but kleinfelds wanted close to 1000!!)

im now hoping to keep everything under 5500, keep your fingers crossed!

My mother is paying for the dress and all that stuff like veil, alterations, etc. We didn't have a budget, in my head I didn't want to go over $3k.....but when I found 'the one' my mother didn't care what the cost was and we got it! I am extremely lucky to have a mother like mine, she's awesome.

Just an FYI for girls who are looking at high end dresses. There is a place in dix hills called Bridal elegance and they will beat any price on any dress just go there with the designer and style # and they will get it for you! I was there yesterday and the prices were amazing. I think you should check it out before you buy anything.

I have stopped looking. I go to different places and I cant seem to find anything that I like- so I said that I wouldnt go until April. At that point I am going to need to make a decision and Ill get somthing then. I get really discouraged because there are girls who try on 2 and find the one...I have tried on tons and still nothing THanks for asking...

i'm sorry christine, i know you were having a tough time finding 'the one' i would wait for the spring collections to come out and then start looking again, i know you've been to a zillion places.

try bergdoff goodman, that's where i found my dress but ordered it elsewhere bc it was a little cheaper....but they were terrific there, they had so many helpful suggestions, not a huge selection but they have the best of the best there.
