Bridal Party Regrets

Bridal Party Regrets

I think I should've waited longer to ask...actually, now I know I should've. I've heard many stories, but was wondering who'd change it if they could.

I have some regrets, but the person that I would have excluded if I had to do it over again wound up bowing out of the bridal party, so it kinda worked out.

Situations came up, things changed and it would have been really uncomfortable

I wish I had the same courage I'm kind of waiting to see if she's going to bow out b/c our friendship (or lack thereof) has changed so much.

I would have waited.. a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time.. my mOH gave me problems... but as of right now, we're good..
one BM stepped out, due to finances.
I haven't officially asked one of them, and I don't want to, but FH and FMIL do.
for the most part my BP was 'assumed'

I have the exact same problem. How are you going about this? Just not keeping in touch with her hoping that she will step down.

No regrets.....I'm VERY happy with my BP There was one girl that I had contemplated asking, but didn't, and now I'm happy that I didn't.

Re: Bridal Party Regrets

I am so happy I asked only 3 girls to be in my BP...

...however, I originally wanted to ask one more person. I am glad I didn't because I know how difficult it would have been on her as a grad student with no income. As I know her very well, she wouldn't have been able to vocalize when to tell the other BMs that she couldn't afford things, and I didn't want to put her in an even more financially difficult situation.

Yup, I think that's what I'm going to do. I'm so non-confrontational. I hope she feels the same way and bows out. It wouldn't surprise me if she did.

I am really happy with my BP. I know my MOH doesn't have a ton of money, but I don't really want them to go above and beyond for like the bach party or anything because I know this so its all worked out great!!

Yeah but what happens if she don't step down? That's what I'm afraid of. I was thinking of going the same way. I mean I've heard from pretty much everyone that you can't ask someone to step down.

Re: Bridal Party Regrets

The 1 person I dont want in the bridal party actually isn't in it anymore so in the end it worked out BUT I wish I had never asked her. My major boo-boo was asking ppl right away. FH tried to tell me that I needed to wait but I was afraid of upsetting ppl by waiting to ask. Also here is a HUGE stinger...I love my MOH, she is one of my oldest and dearest friends BUT she lives about 5 hrs away from me and I never see her and hardly EVER talk to her. I think I def still ask her to be a BM but would of asked my other BM to be MOH. sigh rough stuff!

If she doesn't, she doesn't. I think it's going to be weird, but after the wedding it'll prob be it. I've put in so much effort and she hasn't. A friendship shouldn't be so difficult to maintain. She knows nothing about my life and I nothing about hers.

I don't feel right asking her to back down. I don't think there's anything I can do. I think it will be so much worse if I ask her to step down than accepting that someone that's more like an acquaintance at this point in my life is in my bridal party.
