Ok so I went to make an appointment at Bridal reflections (I was hoping to go today) But then they told me that I needed to book at least a week in advance. Then she gave me 3 times I could come in for next weekend, and made me leave my credit card #- if I don't show up, or wait less than24 hours to cancel they charge me 50 bucks!
Does anyone else think this is RIDICULOUS? I was tempted to hang up and say nevermind. I called 3 other bridal stores and not one of them made me do that.

Re: Bridal reflections- is this normal?
Yeah, that sounds a little weird to me. No one ever asked for a credit card when making an appointment.

I HATE bridal reflections....honestly they have nice dresses but all their employees have bad attitudes and their business ethic is horrible IMO.

I would absolutely NOT leave my CC number. Go somewhere else to try on dresses.

When I meet with them they wanted my cc # or else I couldnt make an appointment. I thought this was absurd and I have never heard of this before. This is insane what if something important comes up and you cant make it then they will charge you 50$, I didnt like my app at all with them

That is nuts. I went to about 8 different shops in my search for a gown and never was asked for a CC number. I ended up getting my dress at Moonlight Couture in Merrick and so far I have been happy with their service. One of the women in the shop actually picked my gown out for me and it was the first and only one I tried on there (even though she had taken the time to go through every dress in the shop with me and go over what I liked and didnt' like about them) We had a stack of 10 dresses to try on but never got past the 1st one. RK bridal in the city was also great and had a huge selection.

the lady I saw kept bringing me dresses that i said i didnt like (ie lace) then when i pointed out parts of dresses i did like and if she could bring ones similar out for me or pointed to dresses other people were trying on and liked, she told me to go home and find pictures of dresses i like in magazines. I'm sorry but looking at a model in a dress in a magazine is not the same as when you try it on. What you think you like is not awlays what looks good on you. I wanted to try stuff on and she just wanted me to find pictures. I dont think she felt like looking for dresses that matched what i liked. I was there for 30 min.

NOO do not do give them your cc and do not go there!! That's insane I went the one in Massapequa and they never asked me for a cc but regardless its a waste of time. It was a terrible exp I was waiting for 20 mins for them to get their sh*t together and actually acknowlege I was there, than - she brought out a dress with tons of tule - which I did not want (completely not something you would put on a girl thats 5'2') and as I'm looking at it it has a HUGE BLACK SPIDER inside the tule. Apparently she brougt it out of the basement sample dresses b/c this was all I could afford according to her!!!

I bought my gown at BR in Carle place and was never asked for a credit card number when I made my appointment. I would never ever leave my credit card number with anyone.
