Hello girls, I am new to the group and I have to admit this is the most addicting site, for brides or futre brides, anyway, I am going to the above salon to try on some of gowns. I know they are expensive, but I want to see what is out there for me...... can anyone share good or bad experiences. I can tell it going to be fun! either way.

I haven't gone dress shopping yet but I hear they are expensive and mark up dress that other boutiques carry. I say go there but try to find out the designer and name of the dresses you like and then see who else carries them to make sure you are getting the best price

I had a wonderful experience with Kristy there... but you'll probably get mixed reviews...
I went to Kleinfeld's and was treat like doo-doo and went to Bridal Reflections the following day and bought the exact same dress that I tried on at Kleinfeld's! Customer service sucked big time regarding Kleinfelds..

I had a bad one, a friend had a good one.
I would go there for yourself and see. You will see mixed reviews on almost any vendor here.

i had a great experience with amanda but i wanted to rip another woman's face off b/c she was so rude and basically refused to help me b/c i was getting married in 07 and shopping 'too early to buy'... i later bought that dress the NEXT day at another place b/c of that woman's attitude. amanda was great though!!! she came and rescued me from that mean woman and asked if she could help me-- i said yes, you could help me by keeping that other woman away from me so she laughed and began showing me dresses.
good luck-- give it a try for yourself. it would be helpful to go in on a weekday or weeknight-- and try one of the girls that other bride's recommended to avoid getting a rude salesperson.

i went to bridal reflections in carle place and hated it there - but a bunch of people have convinced me to try the one in massapequa - i am going on july 8th so i won't really be helpful now BUT my friend was told there are three bridal reflections - the one in carle place is the most expensive, the one in massapequa is in the middle and the other one is the least expensive . .
at the one in carle place i told her my limit and she still brought me two dresses over $7000!!!!!!!!

I agree that you will get good and bad experiences with most vendors...unfortuneatly I had a negative experience- I stopped by just to see what kind of dresses they carry- and although they weren't busy (there were two assistants standing around talking, and one helping a customer), they insisted that I couldn't even look at dresses without an appt. I began to make one, and the first question they asked was how much I wanted to spend- and I responded I didn't know- and they said they needed to know how much I was willing to spend before I made an appt- I responded, I honestly don't know, so I guess I won't have an appt. The woman just looked at me, and said, 'okay'. wow, I just really felt as though they didn't want my business.
However, on the good side, while I was waiting for the women behind the desk to notice me standing there- the woman helping the customer seemed very pleasant, and the dress she had on was georgous.

Re: Bridal Reflections-Massapequa
they are the less expensive of the two salons...dresses from under 1000 and up to i think 5k? I had a great experience finding my dress there; however my fitting experiences have been a nightmare! They ordered the wrong size...too small so i have to change the back of my dress so it will fit me. I'm preparing to give them hell in a few days when i go back for my second fitting, b/c they said i will have additional charges now...RIIIGHHHTTT!

LOL. OMG you guys are great!!! Thanks for te tips. Well I went yesterday and fell in love with what they called the 'not so typical bridal gown' but its my f*ing day so ..... W The first thing that they asked me on the phone was what my price range was which is down right tacky!!!!! I just wanted to make an appointment so I told them 'open price range'. I am going back to see Kristy on July 15, with my mother and her friends who ar living vicarious thru me I also went to The Wedding Salon in Manhasset. Noreen is the BEST and soo sweet, they have beautiful gowns there. Some expensive , some affordable.
The Bridal gown journey begins
Thank you again.

Re: Bridal Reflections-Massapequa
One of my BMs is getting her wedding dress there and hasn't had any problems. I went with her last week, and they were really rude. The girl helping me had no patience and made me feel like I was bothering her. She also scolded us for looking through the closets on our own. At one point I said 'I'm sorry if I'm coming off as harsh,' because I'll just say I don't like a dress and she seemed to be getting offended and she goes (all huffy) 'well, I'm just trying to help you find a dress.' I found my dress there, but I'm buying it somewhere else because she was such a biotch. I think her name was Lainey.
I had a WONDERFUL experience there and at the Carle Place location!

yeah, i dont really like when they ask what is your price range, but they need to. If my comfortbale range is 1500, then i dont want them to bring out a 5000 gown...

Re: Bridal Reflections-Massapequa
I went to BR in Carle Place as did my BMs and each of us had AWESOME experiences. They asked my range too and I thought nothing of it. I dont see the big deal in asking at all. We low-balled them and ended up spending more than we thought anyway. Not because they pushed a particular dress on me, but because I liked the dress. AND not to mention the manager of the store got us a trunk show price which saved us somewhere between $700-800. If a customer cant afford a dress in any store they reserve the right to go someplace else just as a store reserves the right to sell anything for any price.

Sorry to hear that - I have had nothing but excellent service at Kleinfeld.

That is so funny because I had a great experience at Kleinfeld's. I think no matter where you go it really depends on the salesperson you get. I would tend to say that most dress places get mixed reviews because shopping for your dress is such a personal experience. Go to bridal reflections and see for yourself!

i agree. i was never bothered by the fact that salespeople would ask me what my price range was. i mean, why waste their time and mine if they are going to start showing me $5,000 dresses that i cannot afford. also, once you see something and fall in love with it-- if it is way out of your budget it's going to be heart breaking!
