Bridal Reflections-Massapequa

Original post by KD1279

Hello girls, I am new to the group and I have to admit this is the most addicting site, for brides or futre brides, anyway, I am going to the above salon to try on some of gowns. I know they are expensive, but I want to see what is out there for me...... can anyone share good or bad experiences.
I can tell it going to be fun! either way.

That is so funny because I had a great experience at Kleinfeld's. I think no matter where you go it really depends on the salesperson you get. I would tend to say that most dress places get mixed reviews because shopping for your dress is such a personal experience. Go to bridal reflections and see for yourself!

I agree! It's all in who you end up with as a salesperson. I just happened to catch the wrong girl on the wrong day.

I went everywhere to look. I recommend going to to Kleinfelds for the experience, they have GORGEOUS (and expensive) gowns but to be honest I felt like they really just wanted to SELL me a gown and werent honest with how some looked on my body. The stores where they told me some dressess didnt look good on me, was where I know it wasnt only about a 'sale'. Honesty counts!

Everyone has a different experience with every vendor. My advice is to try as many as you wish, it's your day and you have to feel comfortable.

I had a wonderful experience with Bridal Reflections in Carle Place. I am big on personality, they where great and I didn't feel rushed. It just so happened that the second dress I tried - I knew, and felt it!

Other places I made appointments with told me on the phone that it is only an 1 1/2 hour consult and would charge me a cancelation fee. But this same place my friends had a great experience -
so go with what feels right for you!

I haven't gone dress shopping yet but I hear they are expensive and mark up dress that other boutiques carry.
I say go there but try to find out the designer and name of the dresses you like and then see who else carries them to make sure you are getting the best price

Ditto, It cannot hurt to try & comparison shop. But if you get a good vibe when you are there they are a good shop with very talented seamstresses and consultants.

I had a so-so experience there. They had beautiful dresses, although you really don't get to see what they have (they pull out things for you).

The girl I had wasn't too helpful. I told her what styles I liked and she brought things that were totally different.

When we first walked in, the first thing they ask you is, how much are you willing to spend? Well, if I like a dress that is $500, then I'll spend $500. If I like a dress that is $5,000, then I will spend $5,000. So, maybe they didn't like that answer.

I've heard other people having wonderful experiences there. I guess it really depends on who helps you.

Not to hijack, but the person at Adrienne's did the same thing & my sister's answer was exactly the same. The woman was very putt off by it. I understand that she does not want to show any dresses that were out of my sister's range, but she really wanted to see a variety of things, and price was not her concern.

I dealt with Marylou at the BR in Massapequa and so far, no complaints. However my BM's dresses were ordered at the one in Carle Place and the order came in screwed up....right color, brand, size..wrong style. So now their dresses won't be in until two weeks before my wedding. When they were picking out their dresses, the staff there was friendly and helpful however. Hopefully that was just a manufactorer oversight, and the dresses will come in flawless the second time around. Or else, well, I don't even want to think about it!

I had a really good experience. I worked with MaryLou and she was fantastic. Very knowledgable and helped find the perfect shape dress for my figure.

Good Luck and have fun!
