bridal shower ... when do you think yours will be ..... is it too early

Original post by blu6385

i was wondering when everyone is thinking there shower will be ... i was invited to a shower for the end of this month for someone who is getting married in Jan. at first i was like wow its early but then i thought well i guess its more convient for guests .... now they dont have to spend money on a shower gift then like month later have to buy a wedding gift ... i figure it gives people more time in between to save or not spend a lot of money at once ... now i am thinking about telling my mom and BBP to planit for like 5-6 months before the wedding ... do you think thats crazy?

i dont want to know when my shower is .....but i think a shower 5 or 6 mos before for me would be a problem i have no room to store all my gifts, if you have the room i say go for it

We're getting married in August so I am assuming my shower will be in May or June

ETA I think it's fine to have it 5 or 6 months before as long as you have space and can store stuff

I think thats crazy but mabye there was a resoning behind it. I dont plan on planning my shower i feel like if people are going to throw me on its up to them to do what they want and i dont think it would be fair for me to call the shots on it. I think it would be nice of them to even have one for me therefore they are doing it its their choice. JMO

i wouldnt want it TOO early - its supposed to be one of those last exciting things before the wedding!! I also don't want it too late bc then I would be too stressed to enjoy it so I guess between three months to one month before would be perfect!

Mine is the last week of October and my wedding is the beginning of March.....so i have just a little bit over 4 month span between the two!! So no, i say do it whenever you feel most comfortable having it.

I don't think it's too early bc it's less likely that you will be expecting it.

no I feel that way sort of. I told my moh to have it a month or 2 before. plus it's better to spread things out. I hope mine is in Feb while Fh is away for his bachelor party. so I can have a nice day with the girls, then maybe one of those passion parties at night with them

I think mine will be like January or February. That does seem a little early for her shower. But everyone does things differently.

Re: bridal shower ... when do you think yours will be ..... is it too early

I know my mom is giving me the shower as part of my parents gift to me (they are not paying for the wedding fh and i are). So that is great... the only thing she has said is do not look at your registry after Sept. So i am thinking either November or January because she deff.. would not do it for December or Feb. for my March wedding.
