OMG!!! My FI and I drive by there ALL the time. He lives so close to there. I was thinking of making an appt. to go there next weekend. I am in schock. Poor owners

The owner has insurance, I am sure of that. And I feel bad for them But brides getting married this week or next could have real problems. I hope none of 'us' has our dress there just waiting to get picked up.How awful.

I did get my dress there!! they are just wonderful people...she has owned it for almost 40 years!!

MY sister just got married 2 weeks ago!!! and we all had our dresses there until 10/11!!!!

what a shame...it looks like it was at night...does that mean that no one was hurt? I hope not!!

If anyone did have there dress there...I think alternative arrangements could be made...

I just told my sister...and she said that this weekend was her second choice (if she picked a different hall)...eerie...can you imagine...we would be running around crazy...

I am in tears right now. I ordered my dress and bridesmaids dresses from there. There were supposed to shipnext month. I feel terrible for the owners, but does anyone have any advice for the brides who purchased their dresses from there?

MarchBride - I read in the paper that they will be taking care of everythign and everyone - callt hem for some piece of mind - this WILL work out!

Marchbride - if they weren't shipped yet - I'm sure they're still at the factory, safe and sound. I'm sure they will contact you - maybe just ship them directly to you. It will all work out - I'm sure of it!!!

Marchbride - if it wasnt in the store the factory will still have it and they can probably just have it shipped to another store.

I understand why you are panicing I would to, but it all should be fine.

There is a article on the newsday site

and its telling brides they will get there dresses.

I would call like someone else mentioned.

Thank you girls. I am still very upset, but I am trying to be positive. I am going to make some phone calls and see what I can find out (now that the initial shock and hysteria have passed).

Bridal Suite of Bayshore owners are related to Bridal Suite of Centereach. I am sure that store, along with other LI bridal salons are working with the brides and designers to get everyone their shipment. Just call the store number and discuss it. Things will be okay.

I just called Bridal Suite of Centereach and they said they are not affiliated with the store in Bayshore. They mentioned that the Bayshore store will be conducting business across the street (?) and to call their regular number. I tried calling the store and the phone just kept ringing. I will keep trying and hope to get a hold of someone.

Such a sad story

I just hope everyone was OK and that the store was empty. Any known cause of the fire?

Good Luck MarchBride, let us know what happens, I'm sure they will work something out. Luckily it wasnt there yet, now the designer wil have to ship it elsewhere, I'm sure all the designers they deal with have already been notified.

Just wanted to give everyone an update...I actually got a hold of the store in Bayshore. Most importantly, nobody was injured. However, they lost everything. They have already gotten dresses for this weekend's brides and are focusing on the next few weeks. They took my information and will follow-up once they get settled. If you know anyone that has purchased dresses there, I would recommend that they call the store and give them name, phone number, wedding date, etc.
