Brides in Cocktail Hour??

I have heard mixed feelings about the bride going into cocktail hour-

some say its better to get saying hello over with in the cocktail hour and cuts down on having to go table to table.. other people say you really shouldnt show yourself until you are introduced.

I dont know what is better.... Opinions?

We're definitely going to the cocktail hour!! I like it when the Bride and Groom are there, otherwise it's just like you're waiting for the main event!

I am definitely going to the CH - my CH is actually 1 1/2 hr so I definitely do not want to be cooped up in a room. I also would like to hang with the guests so too much time is not spent greeting during the actual reception..

i was told that its easier if you are able to go to the cocktail hour, more time to meet everyone and spend time talking to your guests, so you are able to relax and enjoy spending time with them instead of trying to get to everyone, dance, eat, etc and running out of time

I'm not gonna be in my cocktail hour but I def want my bridal party in there, I want some quiet time with my FH to eat and fix myself up

I'm going to the CH. I always love that part of weddings! Also, I'm a bit of a control freak, so I couldn't stand being couped up for an 1 1/2 not knowing what was going on in there!! Plus, it will cut down on greeting during the reception.

We are definately going to our cocktail hour. It's the best part of the wedding! As a matter of fact, we are having out pictures taken before the ceremony so we don't miss the CH.

im definitly going to be at the cocktail hour! in fact thats one of the main reasons we are not getting married in the rh but in a church. i wanted to spend my whole wedding partying with my family and eating! because i do love to eat!

I'm def using the cocktail hour to greet everyone, 'cause I wanna spend as much time as I can on the dance floor!

our CH is 1 1/2 hours so we are going to be there for most of it - we'll sneak out probably 30 minutes before so we can relax before the reception and have time to eat in the bridal suite and freshen up....also we want to go into our reception room and take pictures in there before the party starts....

I am because my Ceremony and my CH are back to back and since we're not having a Receiving Line and we're taking the majority of our pics before the Ceremony it will give us a chance to greet everyone so we're not wasting time going table to table at the Reception.

I agree...We are going to the CH. Ours is 1 1/2 hours as well so I want to spend some time with my FH and bridal party alone. but I also want to enjoy the best part of the wedding. Many people I know said it was eaiser to meet and greet during the CH and then just enjoy the reception.

We'll be at the CH, but depending on how long our pics take we may be a little late to it. I plan on dancing the whole night so I want to greet as many people as I can during the CH!

I better be at most of my CH, thats my favorite part! Too bad it's just an hour long, have to squeeze in some pics too.
