Bridesmaid Gifts

Hi! One of my friends is getting married in June (she doesn't live on LI so I said I would ask in here for her haha) and she wants her bridesmaids to wear Tom's under their dresses. She was going to buy it as a bridesmaid gifts (but they're $60 each and she doesn't want to get them just Tom's) - Do you think it would be a lot to ask of them to buy them themselves? They've already spent about $200 on their bridesmaid dresses. And the shoes they'll be able to wear again at least and they're comfortable!

Thanks!

Re: Bridesmaid Gifts

For me, if I were buying shoes that I would wear again, $60 is not too much. BUT....I really hate Toms :p So I would not be happy about having to purchase those.

My sister in law wore Toms (bride's choice) with her BM dress in a wedding last year (with a short dress), and it didn't look so great.

Personally, I think if the bride is going to demand you wear a certain type of shoe, she should pay for it.

I agree that if you're making them wear a specific shoe, ideally it should be paid for by the bride and groom. We're having the groomsmen wear converse all-stars, but we are buying them as the gift.

She doesn't have to, but I feel, if you're going to be that specific, you should help - its why Im buying the jewelry for my BMs - I want them all to match.

Thank you! The dresses are actually long, so you won't really see them unless she gets a picture of everyone wearing them (Which is probably what she wants to do)but I'm going to mention that to her. Thanks!
