BridesMaid Issues
Over the weekend I had one of my BMs mom call me to to give me a piece of her mind. She was like Why do we have to pay for alterations seperately. Thats ridiculous! I was like ummm .. i guess your daughter has never been in a wedding before. You have to pay extra for everything! I really didnt need her mom to call me GOD!!!Also- Should I pay for all my BMs shoes?

Re: BridesMaid Issues
The nerve of some people!! I would only pay for the shoes if you are including that as their gift. Otherwise they are on their own. HTH

Re: BridesMaid Issues
you do not pay for shoes. You need to have a chat with your bm and let them know whats expected of them. The mother calling you was totally unfair. Sorry you had to deal with that.

Re: BridesMaid Issues
The MOM called you?! That seems like the BM can't handle herself to be able to talk to you like an adult - person to person.Secondly, I don't think you need to buy their shoes. Let them buy what is comfortable for them or if you want them all the same - then do it that way. If you want to pay for something, try their day of jewelry or their make up or hair.

I don't think you need to pay for anything (shoes, etc.)Like the other girls I don't get that the girls' mom called you....can the girl not speak for herself? Also who ever heard of not having to pay extra for alterations.
Sorry you have to deal w/ this....

Re: BridesMaid Issues
if they agreed to be a BM , then they should know they are pretty much responsible to buy their dress, shoes, etc unless you are giving a gift (e.g. jewelry, purse). Some people have nerve thoughOne of my BM is also making an issue about paying for alterations, she wants to pay $15 the most, for a hem, straps put on the dress and possible taken in a little...we keep telling her good luck finding someone to do all that for that price!

Re: BridesMaid Issues
I cant believe some people. I dont think you should have to pay for anything except for the gift you decide to give them. People should understand that when they accept an invitation into a bridal party there are usually a lot of expenses involved.

Re: BridesMaid Issues
Sounds like we should start a new trend: when you ask someone to be in your bridal party, give them a nice greeting card and include a printed list of their duties (You can find them on The Knot or Wedding Channel) !!!

definitely don't pay for their shoes unless its part of your BM's gifts. everyone knows that there are extras that go along with being a BM.

That's ridiculous. Why is this girl's mother calling you? Sorry this BM, and her mother, are giving you grief.

Re: BridesMaid Issues
Some people are so clueless. I had a BM drop out a few weeks before the wedding and she said she'd send me her dress back for a refund. Um, honey, you bought it. You realize who your friends are. Keep your chin up!

Re: BridesMaid Issues
are you kidding??? like you need that stress! thats b.s.!im sorry you are dealing with a bm like that...very immature and annoying...hello! you say yes to being a BM you say yes to a bunch of costs...this will be a huge wakeup cal lfor her!!
as for shoes..i told my girls to buy silver strappy sandals..i dont care what they look like- as long as each girl likes them...they can be $10 they can be $300 each girl will buy their own and will hopefully wear them after the wedding.
good luck sweetie- try not to get stressed
