Bridesmaid Issues

Bridesmaid Issues

I guess I am having a really crappy day but I regret asking some of the girls in my bridal party. I asked the wives of two of FH's friends to be in the wedding over one of my very close friends. I've regretted since the day I asked them. Now my friend and I are as close as ever and its making me sick she isn't part of my day. I cannot add another girl. I already have 8 and wish it were 5. What can I do? Is there any way I can ask the other girls to step down without making them feel bad?

are you having any readings at your wedding? maybe as k you close friend to read?

Oooh I don't know... have they done anything specific that would justify you asking them to step down?

If you just wanted to make your BP smaller they might be ok with it... but if you're going to replace them with someone else they might be pissed.

i really don't think you can un-ask people to be in your wedding unless you have a major falling out....jmo

I would say if you can't add her, have her do a reading! I'm sorry you are upset...

are you sure you can't add her? Maybe have her walk down the aisle after your moh?

Its your wedding do whatever you want. Maybe you can make up some excuse like we are trying to cut back expenses for the wedding ... make up a money excuse so to uninvite the other two and then invite your friend. Im sure they wont talk about and your freind can alway say that she was always in your party

I agree. . . you can do whatever you want, and sometimes people are relieved not to be in the wedding party!! Are their husband's in your FH's? I mean, as a woman, it's fun to get to wear whatever you want to a big wedding, and just be a guest . . . . If you actually cut the size to 'cut costs' and confusion (that's alot of people to worry about) then it's fine.

If I called my girls today and said, you know what, it's just too much for us to have to have the extra car, the extra time with the photog, the hair and makeup, etc., they would understand . . . BUT, they WILL notice that a new girl is in the mix later on, so that's a toughy.

Dont feel bad about adding another one! So what you have eight? You can have 800 if you want. It stinks that you have girls you dont really want! That sort of happened to me but got itself figured out. Maybe that will happen for you!

I would really ask her, who cares one extra person wont change anything, I dont think you can ask the others to step down without them doing something wrong

I say ask her. Better to ask then to always wish you had. And so many wedding parties end up uneven nubmer wise. It's your day - do want will make you happy in the end

I would ask her to be in the wedding. You seem to really want her there and its your wedding. Do what you want. 2 girls can walk down the aisle together. I think you would regret her not being there with you that day.

I think you can have as monay as you want! Add another. And the Maid and Maitron of honor thing is a great idea if your friend is married.

I had the same exact situation....I had 8 girls ( and only wanted 6) then it became impossible to not ask one of my other friends. So now I have 9!! I already have a maid and matron of honor then 7 BM's......FH & I have a feeling one girl will drop out as all the expenses come up, so we'll see....otherwise...I don't mind so much.

I would just ask her. I already asked my girls and wish I asked my cousin, well this weekend I am asking her. It will be 4 girls and 2 guys then but, oh well.

You can but that will bring trouble! I would just ask your friend to be involved another way. Reading or something like that...

Or, just ask her! Who cares if its too many! I had 6 girls all together and now I will have 7 bc I asked another friend I felt should be in it. I also am hoping one of the girls drop out!

Do what makes YOU happy. You don't need to have an exact match on both sides... you can add another girl if you want. I think you should if you're that close with her.

I made a simular mistake with one girl in my party... my brothers girlfriend. I never really got along with her, but just to save drama, I threw her in. Sure enough, the two of them broke up, and since she hasn't even ONCE asked me ANYTHING about the wedding ... Eventually I'm gonna talk to her... she just isn't acting like she cares or ANYHTING! ... But, if she was still being my friend and asking how the wedding planning was going, then I would prolly keep her in my party ....
