Re: Bridesmaid vent......
I think your friend is wrong. If you or your fiance don't want your ex there, then he shouldn't be there. Its your day, not hers.

I agree with Novemberbride, it is your wedding and it is your happiness that is important not hers!

Re: Bridesmaid vent......
Is your FH from Howard Beach..I think he looks familair from Golds Gym..
Anyway if you are getting married to someone else who do you care who your ex is with.
If your ex is making your friend happy and you have moved on obviously then who cares?
I mean its not like he will be sitting with you anyway..
I think you should allow her to be the ADULT and make the decision to bring him or not!

Re: Bridesmaid vent......
I totally agree with the other ladies. If she is one of your good friends, she should know that bringing this guy to your wedding would make for an uncomfortable situation. I think you FI did the right thing by telling her not to bring him. She needs to remember that the wedding is your day, not her's. If it was a long time serious realtionship with this guy, it might make it a little more understandable for her to want to bring him, but it's only been a few months...I would definitley stick to your decision and make her very aware that he is not welcome. Good Luck sweetie.

Re: Bridesmaid vent......
I thought so.. You are lucky he is a very nice guy..I was with my Ex for 7years and if he was now dating a friend of mine I wouldn't care.. That is the reason we broke up..
Don't you think though it is a BIT rude that a friend of yours would date your ex..
I know not one of my friends would do that.. Even if I was married with kids.. Isn't it some sort of unwritten rule among girls.. I think you should have been the one to call her since she is YOUR friend and its your problem with him being there..
Just let things be. .Don't get so worked up. She might not even be with him by the time you are married!

Re: Bridesmaid vent......
I dont agree with Ronnie. This is her wedding and if there breakup was bad like she said it was. He should not be there whether she is over it or not and obviously she is . This is HER DAY and if she doesnt want an ex at her wedding thats it!!!!!!!!Your friend should respect your feelings!!!!!

Re: Bridesmaid vent......
You are right, IMO...I think she is very wrong for not understanding, but that just proves how somehow, your wedding day becomes all about everyone else, instead of just you and your FI.And, I have to commend you on not being POed that she's with this guy....honestly, I don't think I'd be okay with one of my oldest friends dating an Ex that I had a bad break-up with. That's like the friend saying, 'I don't care how horrible you treated her!' Where is her loyalty and friendship? Just my opinion...

Re: Bridesmaid vent......
Umm Ronnie is The groom so You should be saying you don't agree with Theresa..Anyway!!
SHE IS MARRYING SOMEONE ELSE..
Who cares who her ex dates.. I know that you don't even talk to most of the people there when you are at the wedding..
Why is this such an issue..
Her friend shouldn't be dating her ex anyway, but that is another topic.
And her friend might not even be with him by next year..

I don't think you should have to invite anyone to the wedding that will make you and/or your FH uncomfortable.

Re: Bridesmaid vent......
I think if it will upset her so much she shouldn't invite her with a date so she can't bring ANYONE!! and that makes everyone happy..and then she should tell her friend about the
UNWRITTEN rule among friends..!!
We don't date the EX ever!

Re: Bridesmaid vent......
Ronnie & Theresa, I disagree with you.On your wedding day you want to be totally comfortable.
Yes ,she is over the relationship, however that does not mean she wants to see her ex's face that caused her pain.
I have been dating my guy for a long time and he would be ****ed if oneof my ex's showed up at our wedding.

Re: Bridesmaid vent......
Stacy if I was you .. I would rethink my friendship with her..I mean no matter what I don't think your friend dating your ex is right at all..
and also you can tell her..
I am cutting the list so if the relationship isn't a serious one no date.. That is all..
I mean the girl is wacky anyway it seems.. and she makes the bride look bad!

Re: Bridesmaid vent......
Excuse me Theresa. !I understand that she is marrying someone else, but what she said in her post that the breakup was bad and that it would make her parents and fi not to mention herself very uncomfortable. This is there wedding! Her friend should understand that!

Re: Bridesmaid vent......
I think your friend is being very selfish. It sounds like she just started dating this guy, yet she has known you for years. Why would she risk ruining a friendship for a guy who may or may not work out? Obviously she knows the history between you and this guy - so it amazes me that she would want you to be uncomfortable on YOUR wedding day!!

Re: Bridesmaid vent......
I cannot believe you use the word 'friend' to describe this girl. None of my true friends would date a guy who treated me so badly. Second, why on Earth would you want this guy at your wedding? I totally understand your position and so should she. She is a jealous girl looking for attention.Welcome New Vendors
