Bridesmaids Dresses - Costs
Hey ladies!I've been spending alot of time recently looking at some options for bridesmaids dresses. I haven't officially asked my bridal party yet, but the girls I intend to ask are all on fixed budgets (as am I!). So I am trying to be as cost conscious as possible.
How much are you ladies looking to ask your bridesmaids to spend on their dresses?
Also if you have any suggestions for lines to look at, I would be most greatful :)

You can easily find a short dress for around $120. Longer dresses are usually more expensive. And if you want a good deal, have your bridesmaids buy their dresses where you buy your wedding dress. Salons usually give them a 20% discount if they do.

Definitely under 200 which I still think is a big much. Our wedding is in November, so they'll definitely have a long dress and POSSIBLY a bolero or something. I hate to inconvenience anyone financially.

I'm in two weddings this year and honestly, I found the dresses to be very expensive. One of them was $220 without alterations and the other is $240 without alterations. I haven't even thought about looking at dresses yet for my girls, I'll start in a few months, but with all the other expenses that come with being in a wedding, I'm hoping to keep it as affordable as possible for them.

I wouldn't go above $150. Being a bridesmaid is expensive! I was in a wedding where after it was all said and done, I had spent close to $1,000.

I'd like to keep them under $200 but closer to $150. its not cheap being a bridesmaid. I know from past experience. I think accepting to be in a wedding you know what you are getting into & that it isn't going to be cheap.

The dresses I chose is $189.00 but I am adding a jacket which costs an additional $49. Total the girls will pay $238 plus tax. I think it is reasonable.

Thanks for the responses!I've been looking at Bill Levkoff dresses and I'm hoping to give them a chose of 3-4 so they can pick whichever looks best on them and all be in the same fabric/color. They range between $150-$200 and I wasn't sure if that was too high. Glad to see I'm in line with alot of people! I would like to keep it under $150 but so far haven't found anything I like in that range.
People keep telling me to do the whole Davids Bridal $99 dress route, but I had a bad experience at DB once and they actually don't have a color that matches what I'm going for.

I'm going to try and stay close to $150, I also am doing cocktail length dresses so hopefully they can pick dresses that they can wear again.Has anyone looked at the Macy's Bridal Salon? That's where I am thinking of going first. Do they accept regular Macy's coupons?

I told my girls we wouldn't go over $200! I also kept in mind that 2 of my girls are plus size and most designers charge like 40 or 50 more a dress over a size 12! Annoying right? We went to RK bridal in the city and got a great deal! We ended up going with Wtoo 955 in a slate color! They all actually liked the dress and the price!!

Most girls are on fixwd budgets as well, i told them i really dont want them to spend more than $100 on a dress at max $140.I have been looking at cocktail dresses online as well as looking at department stores.
Since your having a spring wedding next year maybe check after easter and early september to find dresses on sale/clearance.
Good Luck.
