BROKEN MUSIC - A memoir by Sting

Don't know if there are any Police fans or Sting fans out there, but I just read Mr. Sting's riveting memoir about his dysfunctional childhood, his relationship w/his parents and his life in general from childhood up until he made it big w/the Police. It does not address anything about his solo career.

I have to say that I could not put this book down! Not so much b/c he had such an interesting life - quite the contrary, actually. But, really b/c he is an amazing writer - very deliberate in his choice of words, with a really comical sense of humor. The book is so well written that I really find it difficult to believe he didn't have a co-author!

Just thought I'd share my thoughts about this book...in case anyone is a fan and might want to know more about the real guy behind the celebrity.

I saw him on Oprah about it (repeat ) a week ago...she read a passage aloud and it was really beautifully written!
Think I'll put it on reserve.

thansk for the review - I've been a Police & Sting fan since I was 12

a little aside funny story - when I was home in Ireland at the beginning of December, my mom's neighbour had tivkets to be in the audience of the equivalent of theJohnny Carson show, and we watched the show to look out for her. WEll Sting was interviewed and you should have heard me ranting and raving about her being there etc. Well the next day, I met her husband and I told him I was jealous and he said that Sting wasn't really there - it had been recorded earlier !!
