what is everyones budget if you have one?? i seem to be very stressed with this one i can not believe how much everything is costing..... any helpful ideas are greatly appriciated
my eparty is booked at a hall and is given to us by both sets of parents...the budget is about 13000 we are having 200pp
my RH saturday 11~15~08 is after tax and tip about 175pp and i am having about 275people
my video/photo (i added so many extras i just love pictures and thses are my memories) 9500
church 600
that is what is booked so far but what i have thought of for the rest is following does it sound correct: dj 5000 limos 3500 flowers 5500 invitations 1500 favors no more then $5 each bridal party gifts 2500 (i have about 24pp all together) (can not forget all the little extras that add up)
15 months to save for this

You can definately shop around to get some better prices..I must agree with Mima, I am no where near this and I'm really not cutting back on anything... dj 1975 no limos needed flowers1700 invitations 250-ish favors considering a donation Try to shop around, you can find better prices!

Definitely. I'm having a band and THAT costs 5k, so a dj shouldn't cost that much! And limos also shouldnt be a 3500 expense, unless you're having like 9808908098 limos! I havent gotten flowers yet, but that price seems super high to me from what I've seen other girls on here say they pay... shop around!! Use the extra money to buy a car!!

the limos...flowers...invites...favors..dj.. where just estamates of what i thought to exspect...i hope they are lower... and this website really helps me get a better perspective on budgeting so i know a kind of reasonable amount for when i book
i love my RH and i love my church...and i love my photographer...
its just crazy its like once you say WEDDING the vendors say JACKPOT and double their prices...
its just stressful....
i can not wait to just be married to my FH....

I know, I think we all feel like that at one point or another during the planning process! You should definately read the Bride's Review, they will have reviews of vendors and what to look for. Also, check out your hall's recommended vendors and don't be afraid to name drop/quote drop when talking to a vendor!

wow!!!!!!!! u r so lucky u can even think of affording htat! we have been cutting every corner we can to stay under 20K!! my E-party only cost $700

We decided on not going any higher than 50K but it's going to look like it will be around 40K for the whole thing. Average for a NY wedding. Here are the major ones.
Reception: 13500-16000 (pending on the final date and number)
Photography: 2500
DJ: 1050
HM: 3250
Limo: 800
Dress: 575
Flowers: ??? haven't visit yet

i still need to make a budget! ....i havent really budgeted anything...just done it all in my head...isnt that horrible!!!
my dad keeps telling me to make a budget...but im so lazy to do so!
any advice on how to start the budget...its so annoying to make one lol but I know it is needed !

most of your budgeted amounts are on the high end. I would definately shop around with your vendors...you can save yourself tons of money.

FH and I really didnt set a specific budget $ amount. We are just trying to keep everything as low as possible. We just shop around and which ever vendor is going to give us what we want at the price we can afford, then thats who we'll go with...

mine too! But it depends on the time of year and Im not having limos and Im doing my own centerpieces and having a smaller guest list. I think its just really depends on what individual people can afford and all that stuff.

is that really the average for a NY wedding!? Wow I think I did pretty well then! Any one the national average? I think it used to be like 20K but Im sure it has gone up in the past couple of years.

ive only booked my dj so far out of my vendors and i got all u can possible get from a dj for $3800]
