So, I was of the school of thought that whereas I would splurge on a band and a photographer, I would keep the cost of flowers down.. to that end I was told by several people that Burtons has the best prices.
I had gotten a quote from another 'more expensive' florist first and then went to see Burtons... To my surprise and dissapointment the price quote i was given my burtons was even MORE (by a LOT) than the 'more expensive florist' for less stuff!! (the other florist was throwing in petals, votives and i get to keep the vases for the centerpieceetc)
For 17 tall centerpieces Bride BO-K 2 MOH Bo-K 2 altar pieces Boutenieres and Corsages cake decoration 10 pew bows
Burtons quoted me $2,850 plus tax!
IN order to get a slighly upgraded centerpiece-- (the same as the one from the other florist) it would cost an additional 50 bucks PER centerpiece..!
What happened to a great price!!!! ???
Iroically a friend of mine who is getting married 2 weeks before me and needs the same items PLUS an ADDITIONAL 10 BM boquets got quoted LESS than I did....
Burtons would not itemize their 'package' price so I dont know how on earth they came up with this number
Someone please explain this to me!

Re: Burtons Florist .. MAJOR Dissapointment
Hey Cacarina-- yes, actually, it was a major dissapointment to me which is why i posted my vent... It was a major dissapointed bc I was hopeing that they would come in with a much better price based on what i had heard and based on the recommendations that I was given. I was also dissapointed bc for whatever reason, which i didnt understand and one of the reasons i posted, they quoted me higher for a smaller package using the same flowers, same time of year and same day of the week as someone else.
If you read the rest of the posts on this thread-- I made it very clear that while i was dissapointed with my experience with them , i knew many people who worked with them and got great prices and were very happy with the flowers. And I went on to say that any of the girls on here should continue to consider them and check them out bc everyone has a different experinece and many people had great experiences with them.

My BFF used Burtons for her wedding and the flowers were beautiful. They lasted a whole week after her wedding too. I decided to use them, and all I had to give them was $50 to hold the date.
I was in a wedding as a BM and the flowers did last at home for a week after and they looked awesome on the day of!

Re: Burtons Florist .. MAJOR Dissapointment
Just for the record-
I did keep my appt w/ Burtons today.. Met with Bobbi- as soon as we walked in (late 20 minutes may i add) were greeted with a giant smile..
I don't know if the price is right- but long story short- we left our $50.00 deposit and booked them for our day!!
And I must add- the office got sooo packed after i walked in.. and she didn't rush us ONE bit- took her time.. at first we were hesitant to book ONLY because we had NOT gotten a quote from anyone else.. but she sold us.. And we are goin in next week to see a quick sample of our CP..
I'm sorry some of you girls had a bad experience.. Me personally- if i didn't like someone's tone.. i would of called them on it or killed them w/ my smile.. i hope you have better luck elsewhere!!
