We bought a house. Renting made FH feel like he was wasting $$ (remember we're old )
yeah FH feels this way too but I was a student until May and don't have credit established here yet so we rent now (just downsized to save more faster) and plan to buy within a year-18 months from the wedding

we will be moving into an apartment together beginning of october - renting.
i dont think we're going to be permanent long islanders.
plan to save as much as we can these next few years and then look around, see where we can get jobs and probably move out of NY.

We just bought a house in April. So far nothing has broken, so we're keeping our fingers crossed. We're paying a lot more than we were paying before, but it's so worth it because we had a lot of landlord problems. We are so happy to have our own place.

we just moved in together 2 weeks ago. My FH still has a year of law school left so we didn't wanna buy till we figure out where he is going to be working so we can do a central location thing!!! so we are renting

I am renting. Pros: FH and I can move when ever we want. Cons: my rent is practically a mortgage payment!

we will rent for a few years and then buy but I am werid I dont really want to buy a house Id rather own a townhouse or condo.

We are currently renting and have been since October. We will probably buy within 1-2 years after we replenish our savings. We are still torn between moving to the 'burbs or staying in the city.
Both have pros and cons, so it really depends on your particular circumstances at the time.

We just bought a house, I wanted to stay in NY for a few years then go somewhere warmer BUT with FH's job well be here for 20 then Im peacing out this muthaaa. We didnt rent because we like our space and I wouldnt be able to put up with other people noises plus I wanted to rent closer to city and he wasnt down for that.

We just bought a home. FH didn't want to hand away his money to a landlord. Luckily, we were able to take advantage of the buyers' market. Owning a home is a lot of work, but the freedom and pride are worth it!

Hate my apartment....2 family house. UGH!!! I want my own so bad. I think we're going to seriously start looking right after the wedding and probably go for a coop or condo. I think it'll be a good choice since we don't have kids yet and don't want to deal with maintenance issues. Own with someone else mowing the lawn!

My mom owns a condo that was vacant at the right time so we're renting from her right now. We'd love to own a house soon, but we're saving right now and comfortable here.
