Cake Stand

I thought the reception hall automatically gives you one, however,I found out yesterday they don't. Is everyone using one? Do you have to have one?

I never assumed my venue was providing one, I never knew they did! My cake designer is providing mine.

My venue provides the cake stand but if your bakery doesn't provide it, sometimes they will at least give you a base board (a round wood thing they cover with foil or something else depending on your colors) to sit the cake on. My cake comes on a board and will be transferred to the stand at the venue.
