Call Me Crazy, But I Registered for My Honeymoon...

Call Me Crazy, But I Registered for My Honeymoon...

No, I am not having my guests pay for my honeymoon, it's paid for in full...but...

It all started about a year ago, when FMIL sat us down and asked if we would like to take her upstairs apartment instead of the Studio apartment we are currently living in. Three bedrooms, it would have been perfect. It was March, and she told us that this March (2003), she would be looking for a house in LI with her boyfriend.

So I started to shop, and shop, and shop...

I bought out towels, our china, our cookware and bakeware, our bath mats, our linens, our cutlery, knick knacks and furniture...I could go on and on.

Come September 2002, her boyfriend moved in.

We were supposed to have moved in this month.

Know what's funny?

SHE STILL HASN'T OFFICIALLY INFORMED US THAT WE ARE NOT TAKING HER APARTMENT!!!!

So back to my point. I have it all, I have nothing to register for. It's very depressing...

So I registered on THE HONEYMOON . I figured atleast I will be able to enjoy my honeymoon, and my shower as well. How many sets of fine china can I really use? I asked for Jet Ski and Parasailing lessons, a Reggae Tour that my hotel offers, daily massages, and some other excursions I have always wanted to do. At first Brian was totally against it, but once I gave him the run down of the inventory currently stored at my parents house, he agreed.

I am not sure if there are any other girls out there that currently have a house or an apartment , and need almost nothing for their shower. I just thought this might be an option for them as well...

Re: Call Me Crazy, But I Registered for My Honeymoon...

I know!!!! I tried to keep it cheap so I didn't turn my guests off...

But on the website for my hotel, I have the pricelist for the spa. The excursions could always change though. But I really won't care if I have to put a few dollars towards something, it's better than paying for all of it!!!!

If anyone else is interested, it's www.THEHONEYMOON.com.

WWW.THEBIGDAY.com also has one, but the service fee is a little higher.

My sister did that when she got married....she didnt use that site though...people called her travel agent and booked excursions.

I LOVE that idea though!! I cant stand going on to somones registry, knowing that i want to spend $50 or $100 and all that is is left is 3 dish towels and a measuring cup!! This gives people alot of options!!

Good deal!!

I like the idea. I was like you as well. I didn't want all that stuff just to put in a one bedroom apt.

I think this is a really great idea - absolutely nothing wrong with it! It's different - which usually throws people off (some find it so hard to think outside of the box). Good for you!!! Happy !!
