I was curious how many people we have on this website that currently do not live in the Long Island (or Tri State) area who are planning an out of town wedding on Long Island like I am.
I will start since I am currently living in Pittsburgh, PA and am planning my wedding in Long Island.
If you are from out of town please list where you are from (and I don't necessarily consider NJ really out of town so much since it is really close..well at least some parts :) ).

I'm planning from the Northern VA area. I used liweddings a lot and had a lot help from family and friends! Every weekend we're home we are doing something wedding related

I am from Long Island but I currently live in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Its so hard for me to plan from out of state!!!

I spent 2 years of my planning from South Carolina, and about 8 months before the wedding moved to NY

I'm planning from MD/DC.My FH is from LI but I'm from this area so I 'm relying alot on this site and the holiday trips to NY. It def ***** sometimes not being able to just go get in the car and look at something.

I'm living in Chicago for grad school and my FH is living in Seattle.
My family lives on LI and our wedding is at the Bourne.
His parents live in Rhode Island.
Let's just say it's been quite an adventure planning this thing.......

Both Fh & I grew up in LI but we have been living in Central FL (30 minutes from Mickey) for 4 years now. I am going completely crazy trying to plan this but it will be worth it in the end.

Does it count that I am doing it the other way around? I Live in LI and am planning a wedding in Bethlehem PA where I am from....It helps that I have a lot of freedom with my job and my family lives there so i get to go regularly...

I used to live in NY and moved in with my FH after we got engaged, but I still work in NY...We're planning a CT wedding.

My FH and I live in DUrham, NC. My mom's done a lot of the preliminary work for us--checked out RH and told us which ones were good and which ones to not even consider. We did almost all of the planning over the week of Thanksgiving and have all major vendors booked but the DJ.

DH and I grew up on LI and we planned our 9/15 wedding from Central Florida.(30 mins from Orlando). We just looked around at RH's that had packages so it would be easier for us. We did everything over the phone and we came Memorial Day weekend to finalize things with vendors. Other than that family on both sides helped out alot.

Planning from S. Florida - it's tough. Gonna need to fly home so much. Dress shopping for me, the girls, fittings, choosing a DJ, etc. Any suggestions from other out of town brides?
