Calling Brides on Weight Watchers!

Calling Brides on Weight Watchers!

Hi! So I was talking to a few people on here about possibly starting a WW thread... obviously it won't be exclusive anyone can come on but I am starting tonight and there are a lot of other brides that recently started, that it might be good to have a support system where we can come on at least once a week and share our progress, etc.

We can keep everything on the same thread that way everything is easy to find and you can track your own progress and find everything easily.

Maybe once a week we can give an official 'Weigh in' (don't worry you don't need to put your actual weight, maybe just what you lost for the week).

We can also share recipes, suggestions, etc to keep each other motivated. What do you guys think?

I like that idea...

I started 3 weeks ago.

My first weigh in I lost 5.1lbs.

Second weight in i lost 1.7lbs.

I go tomorrow to get my third weigh in.

So as of today total of 6.8lbs lost!

I love this idea! I just started this week - but I always need motivation!

I think I might keep a picture of my wedding dress in my wallet so everytime I think I want to stray from my points I will look at it and remember how I want to feel on my wedding day!

Good luck everyone :)

Hi ladies!!!!

I love the idea of keeping a picture of your wedding dress. If that doesn't motivate you to keep away from unnecessary foods I don't know what will!

Anyway I just got back from my first meeting, and I think it was really good!!! I really like the group leader and I learned a lot already. I think it might just take some getting used to writing everything down and figuring out how many points everything is, oh and measuring everything also!

Re: Calling Brides on Weight Watchers!

My favorite low point snacks that curb my hunger....

baby carrots (11) = 0 points

weight watchers brownie (melt it in the microwave for 30 seconds and add spoon of cool whip!) = 2 points

vita top = 1 point (if you get the chocolate vita top, you can do the same thing you would do to the brownie, not as tasty but only 1 point!)

Weight control oatmeal = 2 points

Endless amount of grapes eaten in one sitting = 2 points

Weight watchers fruitties = 1pt for a whole pack, not very tasty but good when you just need something to chew!

Also a deli flat bread (1 point) is good with a low point spread like hummus or jam

This is off the top of my head, I am the queen of food, I'll post more snacks and recipes when I can think of them lol

Thanks dbs definitely keep posting!!! I need ideas. I was also wondering, what do you guys usually stock up on when you go to the grocery store? Do you have a grocery list? I need to go tomorrow and I was going to get some yogurt, salad, cheese, fruits and veggies etc.

Also do you guys eat lean cuisines or WW frozen entrees? Thanks!

Re: Calling Brides on Weight Watchers!

I'm all for sharing tips on WW!!

We have a WW thread going on for almost a year now on the 2010 board and everyone is welcome to join in

I've been a member for over two years...and a lifetime member for over a year. I lost 60 lbs on WW and I'm keeping it off!

I always stock up on veggies!! Esp. something quick and easy to eat like baby carrots. I always have yogurt, I like the 100 calorie cupcake packs, WW bread, mission fat free wraps for sandwichs, progresso light soup, lettuce and stuff for a salad.

I eat the lean cuisines...I honestly like them, but they arent all that good for you because of the sodium. its good if you dont have the time to make a year or measure it out!

I do it online.

Only been doing it for 2 weeks.

I buy a few lean cuisines- mostly pizzas, sandwiches and the mac n cheese. Ill buy the WW ones too, it depends whats on sale that week.

I always have carrots at home- grapes and oranges.

grilled chicken

salad ingredients

and weight watchers bread and/or english muffins - 1 point for 2 slices!

WW string cheese and cheese singles

oh and eggs & turkey bacon!

for me the key was playing around with foods and trying to find out which foods fill me up for the least amount of points

the battle is at the grocery store!!

I buy the frozen meals too, also depending on what is on sale. The group leader at the meeting said it's better to cook for yourself since those are high in sodium but I just find it's so much easier to eat those.

I am def going to pick up some cheese, etc... what do you put on bread, butter or margarine? What is better?

ALso I went on my blackberry to the mobile site, and you can calculate points right from there...

does anyone have the food scale?

Re: Calling Brides on Weight Watchers!

I use the I cant believe its not butter spray- which is free

or 1 tbsp of jelly for 1 point.

i bought my food scale from walmart

I've lost 84 lbs on ww :) \ Best thing I've ever done. Went from a size 22 to a size 6/8. Took me a year.

My best advice to everyone is don't get discouraged and try not to watch those #s on that evil scale so much. Also, don't set an unattainable goal. That will just depress you if you don't reach it.

I like to eat special k w skim milk in the am. a banana or piece of fruit a bit later and I vary lunch.

I never eat those lean cuisine meals. They leave me hungry and the sodium makes you retain water.

Best of luck everyone :)

Re: Calling Brides on Weight Watchers!

bump!

How is everyone doing this weekend?!?!?!

I started on Weds and went out to dinner on Thurs and Friday (had plans for at least a month) and I was so proud of myself because I didn't lick my plate clean lol and I really paid attention to what I ate and stopped when I was full.

I know today will be hard... what are you ladies doing to control your Superbowl Sunday Cravings!!!!

We will all be tempted by pizza/wings/chips/dips/beer!
