So i getting married in September My wedding is on the 10 which is a Friday I really don't want to have my rehersal dinner on a thursday because i know alot of people won't come could i do it a week before my wedding. Has anyone been to Strike in New Hyde Park

I have not been there personally, but my FSIL & FBIL jsut went and they said they had a good time.
I think it is fine to do it a week before. That was what I planned on doing since I didn't want to have it the night before my wedding. Now, we are having it two weeks before because half the bridal party has weddings and showers the weekend before.

Strike is fun - the music is loud and they have neon lights which give it a disco feel - but you can call there and reserve for a party b/c friends had a party there last year.
Don't know the details b/c I didn't go - but they have food and when I was there, they were setting up white table cloths and chafing dishes for a party...

Just so you know, my MOH had her rehersal on a Thursday and everyone came. Not only that but we all went out to a bar afterwards and had a great time (her wedding was on Saturday though) I wouldnt doubt that people will come even if you have it on Thursday! Good Luck!

I've known a lot of people who really like Strike New Hyde Park. I haven't gotten there myself yet, but I hear that it's amazing!

did you check with your ceremony location that they will do the rehersal when you want. I wanted my rehersal the friday or saturday before (sunday wedding), but last I was told the church only does thursday rehersals. I am trying to see if that can be changed because my MOH possibly will not be flying in until the weekend

We're doing our rehearsal dinner the Saturday before the wedding (well we're planning to anyway!) I don't see any problem with it- this way we can spend the night before w/ our families and eachother. I like that idea better!

If the bridal party is taking off on the Friday for your wedding, they may be able to come on Thursday, but the week before is also common.
Mine's the night before b/c MOH & 1 GM are flying in. The Church said any Thrusday or Friday.

I've been to Strike for bowling during the night, it's very lively and nightclubbish, they have different areas so I guess you could do a private party there. they have the music going a bar a eating area, a upstairs dance room, it was cool.

My church gave us a choice of Thur or Friday (sat night wedding). I chose Thursday b/c I really didnt want to be out all night the night before the wedding. Besides I figured some of the people comming from out of town won't come Til Friday night, Sat morning and that is at least 12 less people at the RD. I will have a breaksfast the day after instead for all the out of towners.

i am hainvg my rehearsal dinner on a thursday - it is the only day the location is available for the rehearsal - people will deal with it - trust me having it during the week didnt make anyone say anything - i already told them -

Strike is a lot of fun. Their bowling alleys are cool and those go karts look like fun but a bit scary.
