There was a nice arrangement on our table at dinner this weekend and the waiter did not know the name of the flowers I could not identify. Anyone know the names?
Rose, peonies and ????
And do they other flowers come in shades of purple?
TIA
ETA - didn't know this post was still going.
I got the answer for anyone who is interested.
The green flower is Viburnum The large flower on top is a Coral Peony The white flower is called Phlox The roses are Konfetti

I think the green looks like undeveloped hydrangea.

If that's what you want, you could just bring the picture to your florist...they'll definitely know.

Re: Can you name these flowers?
I am pretty sure the big red one on top is a peony. They are very large and have a really nice scent. They are really beautiful but only bloom in the spring. I wanted them for my wedding and could not have them because my wedding was in Ocotober.

They look like hydrengas. Some of them remain green and don't change color.

the green ones are hydrangea
the white ones are definitely not gardenias but they may be in the jasmine family
the orange ones are roses
the red one is either a peony or a camelia - i'm leaning towards camelia though because of the color and the shininess of the petals

Re: Can you name these flowers?
The green are hydrangeas. When fully matured, they come in pinks, purples, blues and whites.
The peonies also come in shades of pinks and whites.
I'm not sure what the little white filler flowers are though.

The white filler flowers may be stephanotis. Just a thought. I had them in my bouquet.

The color of hydrangeas is actually dependent on the acidicity level of the soil

Thanks ladies. I'm told that the green flowers may be viburnum. I thought hydrangea too but was told no. I am pretty sure the white ones are stephanotis.
And peonies do come in purple!!!!
