so i went to a bridal shop today to get the monalisa royale. i like the dress.. but i was def settling cuz im tired of looking. well i got there.. i put it on, my mom came in..and said...NOTHING.
she had a look on her like... she wasnt happy with that dress... wellllll i looked at it..and something was wayyy offf the material felt sooo diff from the other 4 stores i tried it on..and the crystals just didnt sparkle. it was weird. i guess im guna continue looking next week.. ALONE or with a friend.. def not with my mom..cuz my mom has my cuz from greece and i just cant take it with her anymore. she doesnt speak english.. she has an irritating voice...shes not all there in the head..and today she was interrupting the sales lady like 5 times.
i just cant do it. so my shopping experience with my mom is officially ruined because my cuz is staying with my mom for a MONTH
whatever... not like im going to ever find a dress. i hate this. i wish i never planned a wedding.

me too. u know, I watch say yes to the dress and am so thankful that I went by myself. too many ppl, too many opinions. Barb, take a week or 2 weeks off, dont think about dresses. and then go to a store u never even thought about going before. u WILL find ur dress. just dont order anything that will not make u super happy -- dont settle!

Keep looking take a deep breath. I know its frustrating but Im sure you going to find 'the dress'. You might want to try going alone it may be better for you.

I'm never gonna find a dress either!!!
I've been to Village Bridal. The Bridal Suite, 2/3 Bridal Reflections, The Wedding Plaza, and Lillette's and found 3 that i LIKE but that's all.
I'm going to be the last one to find my dress!!!!

ty so much ladies. i spent the entire nite crying . if i knew it was going to be such a hassle i realllllly would have not planned a wedding. i wouldve gotten on afreaking cruise ship with whoever wanted to come.. got a SIMPLE destination wedding dress and called it a day. this is such effin bshyt. the stores piizzzz me off more than anything. the whole thing is 1 huge gimmick. i get quoted 1500 then another store quotes me 950 then i tell the store thats 1500, and they match the price??? like seriously??? every1 is a crook. and on top of that, i have to REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY make sure im not buying a knock off-regardless of what it says on the designers website on who is an 'authorized dealer' cuz thats BSHYT. i totally tried on a dress and it was a fake.
why does shopping for a wedding dress feel like im on canal street????? WHY!?

awww. so sorry sweetie. you will def find your dress. I think your putting too much pressure on yourself.. it will def happen when you least expect it to.. Unfortunately I tried on a lot of dresses and i never got the WOW. OMG this is the one.. I mean i love the dress I picked out.. but i second guess it all the time .. thats why i havent ordered it yet and prob wont until november.. I just dont think everyone is goin to have the Wow.. this is it kind of experience.. We prob just have to think about what we picture ourselves walkin down the aisle in and then pick a dress from there.. You can looooove a dress and not get that feeling that others get. If all else fails def look into maybe gettin a dress made to your liking.. as long as its not a gazillion dollars, lol. Im sure you will find your dress .. patience is a virtue!! I have faith it will happen. good luck!!:)

what about adding to a dress? like if you find something that is close to what you want, the bridal salon can add more sparkles and make changes to it.

i think you shoudl take a trip back to RK. they have sooooo much there, go back and try on different dresses.
dont worry about going on your own. you need to be the one happiest in the dress...since u are going to have those pics around your house
also, look online - brides.com gallery is awesome. as i mentioned i found the dress i got online, drove to freaking CT to try it on, and then ordered it from RK.
dont worry. you will find it and you have time, you just may need to rush it. its not a big deal.

Im sure you have tried them on but just in case, what about Kenneth Pool. Also, theres Private Label G which is not sold in many stores so maybe you havent tried them on. They definately have them at Helens in Commack. Also, Sophia tolli....sorry you are going through this hun
oh also, sotterro midgley line of Maggies, (they are much harder to find then maggies but this means you might not have tried them on yet..)
