Cant find a reception hall b/c Im soooo picky

Now Im worried Im going to run out of places to look. There's nothing out there that pleases me. I just want a place on the water that doesnt look dumpy outside, has nice grounds, not centrally located on a main road (noise factor), has good food, holds only one wedding at a time and all within my budget. I have yet to find a place that meets all of my qualifications thats within my budget. I think Im being too picky, but nothing really stands out. What am I going to do?

Where have you looked. Did you try the Riviera in Massapequa that seems to meet all your criteria

What have you looked at so far? That way we know what you like or don't.

I don't know if it's within your budget, but have you looked at The Crescent. They're right on the water, do one reception at a time, have awesome food and looks anything but dingy from the outside, in fact they're doing renovations to improve the place at this very moment. You should check it out.

you are going to have to settle...

we looked at some places and were not impressed at all. instead of pulling all of our hair out we prioritized those items important to us, weighed all the pros and cons, and just picked one...

what size is your wedding... Lands End i think has a min of 150 (correct me if i'm wrong). Riveria is a great choice for 100 ppl or so.. but not tooo many 125 max i would say. Room is small but very nice

Not sure about your budget or guest list, but did you look at the Old Field Club in Setauket? I think it's 150 people maximum. I hear good things about the food, and the building is on the water.

I don't know what your price range is, but I believe that The Crescent is going to be about $185 a plate for a Saturday night.

Try the Sands @ Lido Beach - And DO NOT go by their website.. It looks much better in person!!! They need to update it...

It's off from the main road, on the beach, and your the only wedding going on. You have the whole place to yourself.

For a Saturday night it's $75pp + tax - Gratuity is optional!!!

For a Sunday night it's $60pp + tax..

Martini bar is included in the price, you get 5 choices for dinner, and a lot of other things are included where at other places you have to pay for it...

It's worth a look... you'll be surprised at what you see....

PS: the food is amazing!

My friend had her reception at Giando's on the Water. It's in South Brooklyn, but this is really on the border of Queens if anything. Like it was only 10 or 15 mins. from my parents' house in Queens.

Russo's on the Bay is supposed to be great too.

Try New Rochelle... they're on the beach and affordable. Look for the ones on Davenport Avenue. There's a whole strip of them.

Good Luck.. remember.. you WILL find what you want!

What about Chateau La Mer? It's right on the water, the food was excellent, they are renovating and the price was great. FM me if you want more info.

take a look at some of the water places in your mind again....now if it is 'dumpy' because the parking lot is yucky okay then...but sometimes, I know Iwas guilty of it and I grew up on the water...there is marshland outside the hall and it could not look as nice as lets say a nice manicured yard...but it is naturally beautiful and protected mby the govt. So write down what exact parts are yucky and then look to see if it is nature or is it the catering hall's lack of upkeeping. People pay millions of dollars for waterfront natural property
