Card Swap Crafty Fun Update 9/18/03.....everyone in swap read

Ok, so who wants in? I would like to have it at 10 cards, due end of october.

well, you make 10 holidays cards using stamps, embelishments, pretty papers etc. Kinda like scrapbooking a card without the pitcure.

then we swap when they are done.

Michelle - thanks for starting this thread!!

It can be done through the mail - anyone can play!! We would send all the cards to one of the participants and they will 'swap' them out to everyone that particpates.

this sounds like fun! So we each make 10, and get 10, and are they like blank for us to send out? I think I got the concept I would lvoe to do this!!!!!

You can look at online scrapbooking & card making galleries for ideas, plus there are oodles of magazines. I get stuck a lot but sometimes ideas come to me. You can do it!

of course. you can also pickup some scrapbook magazine's in the stores. they are loaded with ideas!

Should they have a general greeting inside-or be totally blank? How about envelopes-included?
Should they be geared toward a specific Demember holiday or universal? Do we know ahead who we are swaping with?
Sorry to ask ten million questions-but I'm new at the swap thing!

what usually happens in swaps is everyone makes a specific number of cards....then its sent to the hostess. She then takes one of each card and makes packages to send out to everyone. That way each person gets one of the cards from each person in the swap.

Also, its swap etiquette to send something small to the hostess as a gift, another card, or some stickers, or a tag. Something homemade nothing bought!!

One more thing, you must include a return envelope and postage on it.

So do you make 10 different cards? or 10 of the same?

I am interested, but I will not be home from my honeymoon until October 24th, so I might be cutting it close.

I just made a card for my firends wedding, and I want to make cards for everything now.

Usually in a swap, I make 10 of the same...only because its easier to come up with one idea and not have to struggle with 10 but if you have 10 ideas, then by all means, make 10 diffeent ones!!

If I ahd to come up with 10 differetn ideas, I would never be able to, since I will be gone for two weeks out of the month, and I still ahve wedding crafts to do by the 12th, but ten of the same i can definitly do.
