Carltun Thread

Original post by pbandtim

I think us girls need a thread too. Since I'm getting closer I have more and more questions about the place. I have a meeting tomorrow to make another payment and I'm trying to get questions together. Do you girls know if they will have the CH decorated? Ice sculpture or fall leaves, etc?

Re: Carltun Thread

I had my menu appointment today with Sheila and all went well. The new chairs look great! The wood is darker and the floral is alittle different on the seat cushion. They do have the chocolate fountain for the record- I know girls have been questioning. It is $5 per person with nice food to go with it....so that's great! I'm getting sooo excited!

hi --thank you!
i sent you fm but the intermezzo was optional and i purchased everything for the candy bar myself --i even put all the candy in the containers 2 days before the wedding and brought them to the carltun that way --the only thing they did was set everything up on the table...

i bought the containers, candy, scoops and glassine bags with labels...

Re: Carltun Thread

That is so cool!!!! They allowed that?? I would love to recreate that at my wedding!!!! also, does carltun put the salad/appetizer on the plate before the guests arrive or after?? I would like to put a box of candy on the plate....

Re: Carltun Thread

i was so excited about the candy bar...i have to say that was one of the things i was most excited about! DH kept saying that no one would touch it but it got attacked by my guests! i am glad i bought a ton of candy...

i think that the appetizer was not already on the plate when the guests walked in but i am not 100% sure --actually the more i think about it --the more i think that they brought the app in right after the first dance...we had our napkins tied with a pretty bow and mini rose and i believe that they were on the plate with the menus when the guests walked in...

edited for spelling...

Great, thank you for the info!!! I am excited now, because I want to do the candy bar too!!!! do you have any more pictures of the food?? I would love to see the presentation especially at the CH....

It is great that they bring the food later. I hate when the food sits there God knows for how long....

Re: Carltun Thread

Vita- no, $5 per head is pretty normal from what I have seen elsewhere- plus they include the food to go with it!! I'm so excited about this!

Re: Carltun Thread

Thanks!! it looked nice, was it popular?? any more pictures of the other stations you had?? sorry to bug you so much!!
suebride Posted:

Re: Carltun Thread

i think it was popular --we attended our cocktail hour but i feel like i missed most of it! my mom said the vodka was delicious...i know that some of my family/friends said they missed some of the stations b/c there was so much...

you are not bugging me --i do have other pics but i have to scan them in --am working on it...the problem is that it takes a little while to scan and then re-size --i plan on posting more and also doing a full review (soon!)...

Re: Carltun Thread

here is a stupid question, where does the vodka come out of? Does it go through a tube in the scuplture?

Hey y'all!
I just booked the Carltun this past weekend and I am super excited to get started on the rest of the planning! It took a good 2 years of searching, but I should've known that I would book the first place I looked at...

Can I ask what your wedding color schemes are? I am thinking of cream, peach, blush, etc. to go with the color of the ballroom..

We're doing shades of burgundy, blushes, creams and golds. I think it'll go really well with the colors of the rooms. Your possible colors sound great!
