I think us girls need a thread too. Since I'm getting closer I have more and more questions about the place. I have a meeting tomorrow to make another payment and I'm trying to get questions together. Do you girls know if they will have the CH decorated? Ice sculpture or fall leaves, etc?

Wish I could help ya girl! But I'll reply to keep the thread up top.
What are your band choices for the after party? When we booked I was told reggae or jazz trio. Are there more options?

Re: Carltun Thread
Yes- I believe there are many options.. I have heard good thigns about a band called Groove Train... but then a lot of people either do Jazz or Reggae-- I decided I want something upbeat cause it will be agter 1- I am paying good money for the party- so I want peopel up and dancing and enjoying it!

Re: Carltun Thread
Hello, I am getting married at the Carltun 6/11/2006. We are having the after hours party. Hope it will be a lot of fun. We don't know if we are having it upstairs or at the patio. Any suggestions? Thanks

Re: Carltun Thread
I haven't fully decided on whether or not to have the after hours party, but they are both beautiful.... both with their different type of flare.

We're having ours upstairs too. I love Havanas... although if it were a different time of year, it'd be a tough choice between that and the patio.

Re: Carltun Thread
I just got married at The Carltun last October. Everything was beautiful. My bridal attendant was Donna. She does Sunday night weddings. My band was Timepiece - awesome. We didn't have an after party because it was a Sunday night and lots of people had work the next day. FM me if you have any Carltun questions.

Re: Carltun Thread
I am bringing this back up b/c I was wondering what past brides thoughts are on the after party? I love Havanas, but since my wedding already is ending at 1AM I am not sure if its worth it. Opinions?

Re: Carltun Thread
So excited to see this thread! I was reading the posts from a while ago... Is it true that there's no course between the salad and main meal? That seems so odd to me, especially when you're paying so much a head.
I am also doing the after party- it was one of FI's requests.
I am beginning to get a little nervous that I'm not getting what I'm paying for....

Re: Carltun Thread
I haven't had my wedding there yet, but I went to Randella's wedding and after party and it was phenominal! I thought the after party was a great way to wind down after the reception. That's one of the elements of our evening that we're looking most forward to.
Is it true that there's no course between the salad and main meal?
I *think* that's the case, but I'm not 100% sure. But I'm not someone who thinks it's totally necessary with all the food at the CH.

Re: Carltun Thread
Thanks Belle - I almost just had a mini meltdown... and so the drama begins. FI's family is Italian, so we NEED a pasta course.

Re: Carltun Thread
Well, I know you can add it (for a price of course). Maybe you can negotiate with your BM. Who are you working with?

Re: Carltun Thread
I have an italian family also, and I really had to fight hard with my father not to add the pasta b/c I didn't think it was worth the extra $. We did get them to include the intermezzo though and we will have a pasta station at the CH.

Re: Carltun Thread
Js- the practical side of my brain says, people can eat pasta at the CH hour. But unfortunately my irrational side is taking over. However, I agree that it's not worth the extra money. Saturday night is expensive enough!

Re: Carltun Thread
Does anyone know what the carltun does for dessert? I am probably getting my cake made somewhere else.... What do they offer? will they throw something else in since they don't have to make my cake?
Sorry for all the questions... it's been a bad day. I'm second guessing everything!

Re: Carltun Thread
Carltun supplies the cake, and you also have a choice between the dessert cafe and I think pastries on the table. We're doing the dessert cafe.
I've found that they will negotiate on things to a point. I always think you have nothing to lose by asking!
