good luck Vita. you will be relieved once it's all done. we looked at Flowerfield and they were much more flexible with throwing things in but didn't see that as much with Carlyle. I know they are flexible that the hordorves do not need to be 5 hot and 5 cold you can mix and match--we did it and picked more hot then cold.
i've heard that they combined other stations for some of the brides on here but we didn't ask for that so i can't be sure.
the all cream are going to look beautiful with the dresses you picked!
i'm so excited to see more pics from Brides getting married this summer and hearing the reviews!! good luck Vita!

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
Okay- Menu planning is over- thank god!
Here is what we did:
Cocktail Hour: Antipasto Mashed Potato Hot Seafood Dim Sum Carving Station Pasta Station
Duet Course- Thai Salad This was a tough choice bc I was not thrilled about doing a duet course- I really wanted and still kinda want a seperate appetizer and salad...... my parents are happy with the duet though so tough call....
Main Couses: Mediteranian Chicken Grilled Salmon Filet with Merolt Reduction
What did everyone do for their Duet Course? I am so back and forth with it....
Also- what type of cake did you get?

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
I am a chocolate lover, but I think some kind of fruit filling is great for summer.
We are starting to think of places for our honeymoon. We were thinking of Capri, Italy or Hawaii...any suggestions?

Yeah- I think we will stick with the fresh strawberry filling!
We were thinking of Italy for our hm first- we thought we would tour around- (didnt really want to tour but how could you go all the way there and not see everything!) and then end up in Capri for a few nights.
We decided to do that next year if we can... we would up with Hawaii- 6 nights in Maui and 5 in Kauai....
If you do Hawaii.... we would have loved to stay at the Fairmont or the Four Seasons on maui...
Four Seasons was sold out and Fairmont was a little too much for us.... The Ritz was actually cheaper than the Hyatt... couldn't beleive that... we wanted to stay closer to the main strip so we stuck with the Hyatt on Maui and of course on Kauai too.
Good Luck!

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
Oh and by the way.... when we were doing the menu planning I brought my old menu with me...
and when we got to dessert I said I wanted the dessert cafe and made a big thing about how great the fountain is and it was a big hit at my sisters wedding on and on....
Gary never mentioned the fountain not working,... my fi said that he wrote fountain down and underlined it like three times and then highlighted it.
Later on, I realized that on their newest menu they took fountain off and wrote fondue station....
I better get that fountain!

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
I stayed in a hotel on the Amalfi Coast in Italy called Santa Caterina. It is AMAZING - the best place you will ever stay. You can take a boat from amalfi to capri and get best of both worlds.

Gary said to us that he would honor anything from a past menu - he said a bride had visited the carlyle 6 years ago and they honored something from the menu then. If he said that to you maybe he will do the fountain if it is in writing on your old menu

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
I already have a call into Sue so I am definitely going to ask her about the fountain again!!!!
We are going to Hawaii--5 Days Maui-Hyatt and 5 days Kauii Hyatt! CAN'T WAIT!!!!
On another note, initially we were told 5 stations if we had less than 200 people, but at our menu selection, we picked out 6 stations because we were anticipating 200 people...of course now we are closer to 180. Do you think they will take one away now that we picked them????

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
I don't think they will take the station away from you. We guaranteed 200 - anticipated more like 215 but have ended up with 195 - they are not taking our station away.

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
I got married at the carlyle in nov. Everything was beautiful. None of you guys have anything to worry about. But I didnt have the fountain and I was suppose to.When I questioned where it was they said it wasnt working but the fondue was the same. Here are some pics.
I am getting married at the Carlyle in 3 weeks. I have a question for those who have already gotten married there or who are going to.....what did you do about the 'Recommened Discretionary Executive Gratuity' and who is it exactly for....your contact person (cynthia, sue or gary)? Thanks!!!

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
Where is Carlyle on the Green located? I always confuse them with Carltun on the Park. Is Carlyle one wedding at a time?
