CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

Original post by Bride2005

I know there aren't many of us on here but I decided since some other halls have a 'thread' lets make one for us!

I LOVE talking to other Carlyle brides

I know since I booked- back in May, they changed a few things on the menu- I had just noticed it when I looked at a the menu when Carlyle had the bridal showcase last month!

Anyone else worried about the cocktail hour room being too small for your guests?

Hi Carlyle Girls!!! I love that centerpiece, very pretty.... I think they would also be gorgeous without the candles, the flowers are beautiful on their own.... Is your wedding in the evening? If so, I'm sure the candles will create a nice 'glow,' so really, you can't lose (sorry, guess that wasn't much of an opinion).

As for the ballroom, I love that it is elegant and not overdone with any specific colors, overdone tapestry, etc... It is gorgeous all on it's own in an elegant and understated beauty

I HIT DOUBLE DIGITS TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK Girls... I am having a really tough time choosing a Duet Course...

Was going with Thai Salad but FI doesn't like it... (We tasted it and I liked it..) He is worried about his
Italian family....

What course did you/will you choose?

Also- what chicken dish did you choose? I can't decide!

how does the whole tasting thing work ?? is it just you go there for dinner for free once? or is there a tasting where you get to try out the wedding menu? what about for the cake?

Remember, you can never please everyone, no matter what you do! If you think that 1/2 the people there won't like the Thai salad though, maybe its better to go with the safer options. Sooo hard trying to pick things that other people will like, when everyone has diff. tastes! We're going with either the Cornish game hens, or the French Breast of Chicken for the chicken dish (but we have a Kosher menu, so our choices might differ from yours).

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

Thanks! I think I will wind up with either the Cucumbe Tower, Tuscan Bistro or the Crab Cakes...

As far as chicken, sounds like we do have a differnet menu-- I think we are doing the Mediatteranian Chicken...

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

gosh i wish i could remember my menu more but i know i got the chicken with the asparagus and everyone raved about it including me..for the first course i can't think of any so if someone can list them i could let you know which one we picked..no complaints though whichever one it was..lol..and the centerpieces, i got low so i'm not one to ask about yours although i like the cream colored flowers with a dash of red elsewhere idea!!

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

thanks..,.. as you can tell- i am now- but never have been before- a horrible decision maker!

i guess i just wanna try and satisfy everyone- even though i know i can't

probally would have done the crab cakes but my fi and i hate seafood and we want something we like- selfish i know- but i guess it makes me aware of other guests who might also not like crab cakes- especially since it is only one course

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

We had the crab cakes and it was delicious. They're really not very big, it's more of a salad dish with a side of two little crab cakes. We think most people liked it. I picked it because it was different, something I hadn't had before at a wedding.
My family is Italian too and they are very picky but I gave up becasue you just can't pleae everyone.
I think we got the Chicken stuffed with goat cheese and sundried tomatoes as one of the main courses.

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

HI! 3 days and counting!!!!
So, I know there has been talk of tipping on here previously but it is getting to be the day and I was wondering what everyone tipped/plans to tip. The suggested gratuity was quite a range (5-9% i think), what did everyone do? And, How much for the bridal attendant?
Thanks.

Thanks Vita! I am so excited! We have our drop-off appointment today and a bunch of other final appointments. I can't wait.
Does anyone have anything to add about the tipping situation? What percentage are you planning to tip the maitre'd? How much to the Bridal attendant?
