Here are a few pics from my 7/15/05 wedding! They are not great because they are from friends but hopefully they will hold you over. Review to follow one day soon...http://www.liweddings.com/community/album/main.aspx?ID=1336

Jodi, you looked beautiful! We are currently considering the Carlyle.

Nope! Its just a list of people that they like, but by no means do you have to use them. All it means really is that the vendor and the Carlyle have an agreement where they promote each other. I've heard that there can be kickbacks between the two places as well but have no idea if that applies to the Carlyle or not.

Thanks

Has anyone been to a daytime wedding at the Carlyle? If so how was it?

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

This has nothing to do with the carlyle, but I would like your opinions since we all must have similar taste ....Is anyone thinking of doing black instead of white limos? I cannot decide

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

I'm going for black, but thats because we don't always do what the norm is. I say go for whatever color you like!

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

I think I want black too. I think it looks very classy, but all the limo vendors seem to have mostly white cars for weddings. Oh...I would also like an antique car for us

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

Keep trying, i'm sure you'll find a place that has black limo's. Although a lot of the antique cars are usually in white because people mostly use them for weddings and for some reason they think they have to be white.
We're just using a big 22 passenger Escalade to get everyone from our hotel to the reception, no seperate cars or anything.

Just bumping the thread, want to see if anyone has any updates, I don't!

Didn't we have some recent Carlyle brides? I want to see some reviews!

Hey ladies -

I'm going tonight for our first menu meeting with Cynthia. Any questions anyone wants me to ask?

Hi! Good luck tonight - let us know how it goes and what you pick :)

Can you ask a cake question for me? I would be soooo thankful.

Can you ask them if they can make cakes with fondant icing instead of butter cream icing? I know that they say you can just bring a picture of a cake that you like and they will recreate it for you, and I saw the sweetest cake (of course it was made with fondant).

Thanks so much - have fun tasting!!!

Yes they can but it will be an extra charge. I was interested in doing that too but when I saw the pictures of their cakes, I just decided to go with one of theirs.

what is the deal with the chocolate fountain? Did they get a new one?

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

The meeting went great. We haven't picked the menu yet but have all the choices to pick from and have to fax it to them next week.
We chose a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling and with the scroll design on it (from their selection, we're not bringing in an outside one).

There are a ton of forms that they give you to fill out including the table set up, who's who for all your vendors, who's in your ceremony and they ask you all about the specific things you want for your reception.

We aren't doing a chocolate fountain, so i have no idea if its available or not.

Has anyone had an outside ceremony there? I'd love to know how it was. I love the idea of it if weather permits but i also like the inside room as well.

I can't believe its getting so close, time is flying by!

We did the same cake! It was beautiful and delicious. We had our ceremony inside because it was the late fall but the ceremony outside is gorgeous too!
Congrats!

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

Hey everybody...We had our menu meeting about a week ago. Really made everything very 'real' for us. It was a lot of fun and we're very excited about the menu
We actually chose something a little different for the cake-- carrot cake with cream cheese filling. Yummy! We figured with ALL the different choices in the dessert cafe, if someone doesn't like carrot cake, there's a ton of other great dessert options.

58 days and counting! Very excited!!!
