We're not doing the jazz hour, it sounds fun though. We'd rather bring our party back to the hotel bar after the reception.

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
Not doing the Jazz thing- I think that it was an extra $20pp, which would have added up to an extra 4,000 for us.
If we were getting married on a Sat. night there I probally would have saved the extra money for it... but we are doing a Sunday night and we already paying just over $40,000 for the hall alone...

Same here. The Jazz thing sounds like fun, but we're having the wedding on a Sunday during the day, so will have everyone continue the party back at the hotel with us (that way we don't have to pay too much extra and it will only be the people who we really want anyway )

Hi!! I just got married at the Carlyle on the 16th and it was amazing. Everything was wonderful and just like past Carlyle brides we are still hearing rave reviews. We also did the after hour party with the reggae band and it was great...it kept the party going so if any of you are thinking about the after party DO IT!!!

I like your original CP w/o the candles the best. Just the flowers will look beautiful. And, I like the stand on yours better than the new one.

I really like this second option - the lily mixed with the roses is gorgeous and the clear base looks very elegant and would really go nicely with all the glassware on the table. Your original cp is very nice also (although i'm not a big fan of the candles on the side), so i think no matter which option you go with, it will look great!

We did the Jazz hour too and it was awesome. We did question whether we should do it as it got closer, but we are so happy we spent the money. Our guests keep raving about it and I think it really made our wedding stand out from the other 8 we have this year!

What room did they do it in? Was it for one hour extra?

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
The after hours is held in the Tillinghast Lounge...the room that the cocktail hour can spill into and the room with the bar next to it. the bar is a good size and there is a dance floor and a bunch of high top tables. We had the jazz band and they were great. Oh, and the BM and bridal attendant ushered us out of the reception after the last song and brought us right to the after hour so that we could see the setup and dance to the first song as the guests trickled in. It was also great because if they hadn't done that we probably would never even gotten in there with all the goodbyes to be said.

Question!!!???
We were looking at a recent brides pictures from the Carlyle...and they were great!! We especially LOVED the chair coverings in white. When we booked, we saw them in the room, covered and we didnt likethem....so we didnt ask....but does anyone know how much extra it is to have the chairs covered? Does the Carlyle do it...or do you have to get someone to come in????
Thanks soo much girls!!!!

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
I inquired about the chair covers, and it was $8. per chair Multiplied by 200-250 people = 1600 -2000! The Carlyle actually has pretty nice chairs, though. I've sen some places with plain hotel-like chairs that really NEED covers. When I saw the Carlyle chairs, I thought it made the room look very warm. IMO.

QUESTION...... I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but are we required to use any of the Carlyle vendors?

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
Nope! Its just a list of people that they like, but by no means do you have to use them. All it means really is that the vendor and the Carlyle have an agreement where they promote each other. I've heard that there can be kickbacks between the two places as well but have no idea if that applies to the Carlyle or not.

Our after hours reggae party was actually held in the Lenox room because we had a lot of people.
