We had that cake at our wedding (on the desert plate) and ended up going home with a bunch to eat after the wedding too... just ask, and I'm sure they'll do it for you

sorry it took so long for me to reply---the two stations they put as one was the vegetable/crudite (sp??) and the cold antipasto (sp?)----it was the first two choices of captain stations on the old menu------ they conbined all the cold meat, cheeses, vegetables, dips ect........it looked really nice set up in the center of the cocktail room.

also for your information make sure you ask to see both table clothes---they are very different looking if I remember correctly the cream one is a floral print and very lacey while the white one is more of a solid table cloth. even though both are pretty I didnt like the lacey floral table cloth---didnt feel it looked right with my colors and centerpieces---- and was glad I stopped by while they were setting up for a wedding to drop something off and was able to see both in person.

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

you schedual an appointment with your banquet manager for drop off ---I believe my drop off was four days before---you label everything, fill in an order form sheet they supply you with and package it all in either bags or boxes---they store it in a safe room.

I am not sure about the ceremony information because I did not get marreie their

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

it might be better to get it there earlier so you don't need to stress about it the day before.

one less thing to worry about!

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

it was a bit hectic and unfortunately the tables were set for a Bat Mitsvah so there were some additonal glasses and things missing on the tables (and cardboard cut outs of dogs as centerpieces) but we loved the way our centerpieces looked.
My mom thought we needed something high and FMIL was making them and they were low but turns out FMIL found a base that raised it up about 9 inches and it looked great! it's a floating candle centerpiece but now with the base i'll be able to incorporate some fresh flowers too!! I am very happy about them looking good!! We also tried out coctail table arrangements--small vase with 3 silk roses--and they looked really good too.

All of the fireplaces had candles in there already but my BM wasnt around to ask if it's always that way. I assumed it would be though. The one thing i noticed is that some of the candles needed to be replaced with bigger ones as they'd melted down quite a bit--but they had xtras right in the fireplace.

they had it decorated beautifully for the holidays so if anyone is getting married in December it will have decorations with green red and white.

we watched them throw out this huge arrangement from the night before on the big table in the hall before the cocktail room--such a shame!

Thanks for asking how it went--I just told FH that our fellow Carlyle girls wanted feedback!! Bride 2005 great that you started this site!

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

i called first to make sure they didn't have an event going on. they've beenreal helpful so if you call i'm sure they will let you go see it.

word of advice--if you want the true pic try to get there while it's set up for a wedding and the tables are made up.

how did the dress hunting go?

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

what are you all doing with menus? we wanted to make our own but weren't sure if we should do one per person and have them on the plate or 4 per table and have them on mini stands around the centerpiece.

any ideas?

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

i was thinking per table but wait there's only 8 at a table i thought there was ten

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

no there can be 10-14 but we thought 4 would look symetrical. maybe not practical though now that i'm thinking about it.

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!

holy cow you can have 14..that's great i thought they only allowed 10..are you absolutely positive?? i'll be very excited if you're right!! i was having such a hard time with work people and college people with only 10 at a table.
