I know there aren't many of us on here but I decided since some other halls have a 'thread' lets make one for us!
I LOVE talking to other Carlyle brides
I know since I booked- back in May, they changed a few things on the menu- I had just noticed it when I looked at a the menu when Carlyle had the bridal showcase last month!
Anyone else worried about the cocktail hour room being too small for your guests?

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
They have Oval Tables that hold up to 14 people
I used 2 of them for tables I couldn't break up.

I was thinking of either doing gone menu per place setting or two-four menus on the table on stands.

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
Hi guys! I was away on my honeymoon when this thread started so sorry I'm late. I ahven't had time to post a review or share picture. Everything was awesome!!!! Our families and friends are still talkign about it. The food was to die for, everything we chose was great. I'll share the menu once I get a chance.
Here's what I remeber from what you've guys have been talkign about.
They were able to combine two of the stations into one big one (we couldn't decide)- I think it was the antipasto, crudite, cheese combo.
We had a chocolate wedding cake (fall theme)-absolutely delicious. My parents are still eating it...one day at a time.
We had 12 chocies of hors deurves but it doesn't have to be split evenly, we had mostly hot and only 1 or 2 cold. Gotta get back to work. I'll get more details later. We also had high centerpieces with hanging candles and it looked really nice.

holy cow you can have 14..that's great i thought they only allowed 10..are you absolutely positive?? i'll be very excited if you're right!! i was having such a hard time with work people and college people with only 10 at a table.
We had quite a few tables of 14 (those big Italian families )and it looked fine. It was very roomy and you could not tell that it wasn't symmetrical. In fact we had 2 less tables on his side and you couldn't tell.

since i'm having a daytime wedding am i going to be dropping everything off the night before or what..i have no idea how that works..
and i heard we do the rehearsal for the ceremony the morning of like 1/2 hour before..is that right??
We dropped everything off a couple of days before. Don't worry about a thing! They were perfect and set everythign up exactly as we wanted. We rehearsed a bout an hour before the ceremony, so that made it easy.

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
Ok, I'm shamelessly bumping yet again but I finalyl got some pictures resized. We did high centerpieces and the room looked nice. We didn' t really decorate the place at all and I think it looked OK. We had a really nice centerpiece made for our table and our ceremony had candles on pillars decorated with flowers. I think we had planned on putting flowers on the mantle by the fireplace but it didn't happen.
beautiful!! can't wait to see more pics and your review!
i was there the day of your wedding!! we went to see how some of the silk arrangements that my FMIL made would look.

what are you all doing with menus? we wanted to make our own but weren't sure if we should do one per person and have them on the plate or 4 per table and have them on mini stands around the centerpiece.
any ideas?
You have to do your own because they don't have the capability. I printed one per person on parchment paper and had them in the folded menu holder that has been posted on the BHB board before. It's the one from Martha Stewart Weddings. It didn't look crowded. I like the idea of putting them around the centerpiece too.

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
Hi fellow Carlyle brides... I am so glad you keep this board going
I haven't been back since I booked but I just called to book our food tasting and also to go over some details (linens... candles, etc). Someone has to call us back to make the appointment.
I'll let you all know how it goes and if I have any questions or answers for you.

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
how does their tasting work? When we booked we ate dinner at the Oak Room and they comped a large portion of the meal? That wasn't considered the tasting was it?
My sister was married at Flowerfield and they had a big tasting day where all brides who were getting married there sat down at different tables- each family at their own table and they brought out all of the choices.... it was wonderul-

Thats a good question... I am not sure if your dinner was considered the food tasting because we ate dinner there too and they just comped our bottle of wine. We were told that we could come in one evening when they are having a wedding (by appointment) and they would sit us down in a private area and bring us samples of the h'dourvs being passed and also the food at the stations and dinner.... I am waiting for a call back so as soon as I figure this out I'll let you girls know

Re: CARLYLE BRIDE THREAD!!!!
We did not have a tasting at the menu selection. We ate at the Oak Room around the time of booking and they ended up comping that. We just chose the menu at a separate meeting a month before the wedding. It was all super delicious so I wouldn't worry!
