I know there aren't many of us on here but I decided since some other halls have a 'thread' lets make one for us!
I LOVE talking to other Carlyle brides
I know since I booked- back in May, they changed a few things on the menu- I had just noticed it when I looked at a the menu when Carlyle had the bridal showcase last month!
Anyone else worried about the cocktail hour room being too small for your guests?

we're staying at the hilton because we are having all of our out of town guests staying there and we want to party after the wedding

we stayed at the marriott- we were in and out really so it didn't matter..
we did the deed and passed out- we were bone tired.

i love this thread! we booked our honeymoon this week!! The Hyatt in Kauai, the Ritz Carlton in Maui and then the Bellagio in Vegas-I can't wait!! we went all out because you only do it once!!
we haven't decided if we are staying at the Hilton or the Marriott--we reserved rooms at both for our guests. the Inn at Plainview too.

Empire, question...how far in advance did the Hilton let you block out rooms? I called a month ago and they told me not until a year in advance.

i think i did it in september-- which i guess does work out to less then a year from our date. i'm sure if you call at the year point you'll be fine.

maybe a dumb question but does Carlyle send out a bill for the second deposit--the one that is due 6 months before the wedding). i didn't know if i should be looking for something in the mail or a phone call. thanks!

I know- I have kept February in the back of my mind for another 5,000 deposit.
We just booked out out of town guests at the hilton. I think we are going to stay at the inn at fox hollow....

just wondering if anyone saw the Carlyle ad in the Bridal section of Newsday yesterday. the bottom of the ad said Valet Parking. it made it seem like it was included but we were told that they need to get an outside vendor and it's an additional cost--and not a cheap one at that. was anyone else told differently? am i misinterpreting what i read?

We had to pay exta for valets. I think it was $150 per valet.

Come to think of it, the valets and their prices are in our contract...I think it's stated 1 valet per every 50 guests at $125. So, since it's on my signed contract, I assume we are paying extra for them.

If they changed their policy (and we still have to pay b/c it's in the contract), I will be upset...the whole valet for extra $$ is the single thing that annoys me about the Carlyle...they should really supply it considering how much money people spend on a wedding there.
I am sure I am reading into this too much...and the policy is the same, though.

Hi ladies! I am a new Carlyle Bride!!! My fh and I had actually booked PJCC and had secured several vendors. We then went to PJCC this past Friday night for a bridal showcase and were just very disappointed--just didn't feel right to us at all. Soooo...on the very snowy Saturday we went out to Carlyle, which we loved when whe had seen it originally. And....no contest, we booked for October 16th 2005!!!!!!
We are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy with the choice. Can't wait to hear more details from you all!
