Ladies, I hope this is not too personal of a question, but are you guys paying mostly cash or credit card for wedding and wedding related stuff?? FH and I have said that we'd pay cash for everything except honeymoon, but the way things are looking, I don't know if that's possibe?

Re: Cash or credit??
We are paying for almost everything in cash. But I think we might put part of the HM on credit card and I think my dress too.

Re: Cash or credit??
If I can tell you one thing::
DONT GO INTO DEBT FOR YOUR WEDDING.
There is nothing worse than coming home and having THOUSANDS of dollars to pay off you dont have!
We are paying cash (well, put on CC for protewction) then pay the CC with money we have!

Re: Cash or credit??
American Express is a godsend Bascially, we are charging everything to AmEx, then bill is paid in full the next month. We have a rewards plus card - so are getting tons of points for doing it that way

Re: Cash or credit??
we are paying everything with credit. i want to make sure i have a record of all payments that have been made & then best way to do that is to pay with credit card.
when you pay business like this with cash they don't report the cash to the government which means no money trail. this also means if something goes wrong (double booking/wrong time) there is no record.

Re: Cash or credit??
cash (checks). i refuse to pay by CC. as much as it protects and blah, blah, blah, i'm not getting into any more debt than i'm in.
isn't this what my contracts and check receipts are for incase there was a problem?

Yup, same here. And also, because I like to break things down into manageable amounts, I divided our total budget (plus extra JIC) into weekly amounts that get automatically transferred from checking into savings. Has been working awesome so far...we'll have things paid off super fast this way. We will continue to do this after the wedding for a house DP.
