I am Catholic and Fh just made his Communion and Confirmation on Saturday night to become a Catholic. He was Lutheran but because we decided that we are going to bring our children up Catholic he wanted to convert. I was fine with it either way but I respected his choice and I am very proud of him. So he has till June and he will be finished with his classes.

We are both Catholic
And my FH is also getting Confirmed..I am surprised they allowed him to be confirmed so early. My deacon told us my FH will be confirmed on Pentacost sunday

He got confirmed at the Easter Vigil on Saturday night.. It was so beautiful.. Some of the group was also baptized first.. Maybe some churches are different. He started his class last September. When did your FH start his?

Re: Catholic Brides

I am Catholic, FI is Lutheran. I wanted to get married in a Church, and so far, the only thing I've been told by my Church is that we cannot have a full Mass, so we will be doing a ceremony. Your best bet is to call the Church to see if there are any particular stipulations pertaining to that particular parish (some are more lenient than others, believe it or not), or if there is anything you need to do before the wedding. Usually they will be more than willing to help you.

FH and I are from different parishes and are not intending to get married in either one.. I know being the bride that I need a letter of release to married outside the parish but does he? I guess I can always ask the church when we arrange the ceremony but does anyone know? are all churches different in what they want as far as this goes? has anyone's FH had to get a letter as well?

Re: Catholic Brides

I am Catholic, but divorced -- not annulled yet, so this wedding will be performed by a Minister from the Church of Ancient Ways.
FI was raised Catholic too. Previously married to a Jewish woman, in a Jewish ceremony. SO he's good to go, I'm the problem!! Oh well....we'll just make it our own ceremony.

We're both Catholic but he's never been confirmed.
Neither one of us is very religious though. We're getting married at Carlyle on the Green by a priest to make my mother happy.

I'm Catholic and FH is Greek Orthodox, we're getting married in the Catholic church and will also be having a separate ceremony in the Greek Orthodox church at a later date.
