Is everyone taking FH's last name or keeping there's or both?
I'm getting very sad about having to lose my last name since i'm the last one
FH will be soo disappointed if i dont take his so i'm thining about hypening it but i dunno. Also, all my degrees will be in my last name.

im torn too....i like my last name way better than fh's and i'm also the last one with my last name so it would be nice to keep it alive. fh doesn't honestly care if i don't change my mind but im worried that it would be confusing when we have kids...they will want to know why we have diff last names.

I'm taking his last name. I'm going from a complicated, people not being able to pronounce or spell last name, to a ordinary plain last name

Re: changing or keeping last name?
im taking his last name, because 1. im way too traditional to do anything else 2. i really hate hyphenated last names...they weird me out, its like a pet peeve...
HOWEVER i hate the fact that im losing my last name....i have a big, vowel filled Italian last name that jus sounds so good with my first name!!! so going from a 4 syllable italian last name to a 1 syllable german last name is gonna be really friggen weird....
BUT i have no choice

ya im an only child, so that made me kinda sad about the last name, but its jus funny cuz i think of hyphenated names, then, do u hyphenate the kids names? and if u do, does ur daughter grow up and wanna hyphenate that when she gets married??? and then one day down the line of ur future descendants someone will be like Jane Has-Too-Many-Last-Names
i get worried

Okay I'm just throwing my last name out there so you can really get the full effect. It is Bologna, the city in Italy. However no one ever understands that (except when I was actually in Italy) and has referred to it as the coldcut since I was in kindergarten always mispronouncing. I have been tortured 'My bologna has a first name it's J-E-N-N-A' 'I bet I know what your favorite coldcut is!!' lol and cannot wait to change it to FH's which is so simple and easy to pronounce hahaha

Re: changing or keeping last name?
I've been waiting to change mine since I was a little. Everyone always ask me where I come from when I tell them my last name and it bothers me! oh and I hate having to spell it out for people too. Oh and Im moving from R to F so that is a plus!

Re: changing or keeping last name?
Taking FH. I have a very hard to pronounce/spell last name. His is soo easy 4 letters. I always delt with the guilt of changing mine bc I am the last of my name too. Then my sister kept her name when she got married! So no more guilt for me Added bonus going from a V to a C!!
Also FH has his moms inital S and their last name tatooed on his arm in memory of her. So he will have my inital and name on him (although I would never take the credit for her memory) I do really like it!!

Im going from German to Italian...even tho I am part italian. I dont mind taking his last name BUT it just reminds me of his mom.

Re: changing or keeping last name?
I have been planning to change mine to FHs, but lately have been getting sentimental and am thinking about hypenating. It would just be soooo long if I did

i'd be going from a nice simple name to a long complicated name....which is why i am torn!
and i also don't like hyphenating...esp bc my name would be ridiculously long if i did
i will probably end up taking the name...but its gonna bea REALLY hard to get used to

Re: changing or keeping last name?
when i really think about it though, i think how all i see my mom as is a DeTomasso....not as her maiden name, and obviously, she really is her maiden name....SOOOOOOOOO since i see her a proud DeTomasso, when she was once something else....it makes me excited to be like 'wut biatch....im a Kuehne!' LOL
like my kids will see me as Kuehne, so I'm kinda starting to take pride in the idea....
plus...since most of u kno my FSILs dramas over the last couple years, i love the fact that i will be the only woman left w/the Kuehne last name (besides FMIL of course)!!! we've had arguments where they'd pull the 'Your not my family' card, and really soon all of them will have other last names, so its like it goes from nto being a family member to 'hey im gonna be a kuehne n ur not haha' LOL
