Chateau La Mer or Riviera?

Original post by XFINALLYX

what are your opinions? we're most likely having a wedding in either june or august. thanks for the help xo

ETA: ok we crossed the swan club off of our list and added chateau la mer. the harbor club would've been on that list but it was 95 per person plus 20 per person for vienesse! now again.. which one would u prefer? we're gonna get the room on the first floor the bigger one. its gorgeous

We are getting married at the Harbor Club. Did you try bargaining with Matt at all?

My dad had his wedding at Riviera and it was beautiful! I personally couldn't have my wedding there b/c we are having over 200 ppl so the room was too small. He had a winter wedding and it was perfect for that since it's mostly dark wood, has 2 fireplaces, etc.

We're having ours at CLM. Our experience has been AMAZING so far! The views are incredible and the price was right!! Plus, they just had the CH room and bridal suite completely re-done and a brand new chapel was put in.

You can't go wrong w/ either one.

CLM is the best. Im biased but really if you read the reviews on here you can see for yourself. The food and service is amazing. nick had been so helpful all along. If i call him, he calls back within a half hour. He answers all of your questions adn he accomidates whatever you need. Love CLM

CLM!!! CLM!!! I saw CLM on this site and read reviews from brides and made a decision to go check them out... They were the first and only place we looked at! We booked on the spot. We went for a food tasting last night and the food was excellent! FH is a chef so you know he was going to be critical.. but he loved it!

FH and I went to both... and loved CLM as soon as we stepped foot inside. My BF got married at teh Rivera and it was a very nice wedding but the furnishings were not what I wanted for my wedding. I think both are quality halls but I do agree with one poster on here who said that that someone was rude when she called... this happened to me as well.

Good luck with your choice.

Chateau La Mer all the way!!

Re: Chateau La Mer or Riviera?

wait your boyfriend got married at the riviera? or??

we went to so many places to look at these 2 are my favorites. i think im leaning more towards chateau.. although i love the fact that riviera isnt a typical catering hall.. but all of the reviews (by the way all of you ladies look gorgeous and the weddings are beautiful) are amazing, the big room is just to die for. and he lowered the guarantee from 175 to 130 if we were to have it on a thursday in the summer. and the price is soo good.

we didnt really try to bargain at harbor club. it was a woman that showed us around and stuff.. they threw in like the vodka/caviar bar and an ice sculpture and chocolate fountain for free since my fh's brother and aunt and someone else got married there, but that still doesnt make up for the 95 per person PLUS 20 per person for vienesse. not worth it.

thanks everyone for your help. theres a food tasting at the end of this month but i think we're gonna wait for my mom to come up from florida next month. i cant wait!

and i heard about the riviera's food tasting. they lock you in the office and give you only cocktail hour stuff. thats kinda cheesy.

I think it depends on how many people you are having. If you are having less than 175, I say Riviera. More than that, I think you have to go with the CLM

ive been to a wedding at both places.

of course, im partial to the swan club, because that is where I picked.

The wedding I went to at the Riveria was tight at 160 people, and I felt to room was oddly shaped (we were in the back corner, couldnt tell we were there!) The cocktail hour room was very packed, but i have heard that they renovated. IF you have a nice day, the CH is on the dock, which is nice.
It was a winter wedding, and the Riviera has a wintry feel - with all the dark paneling and such. The food was excellent!

For a summer wedding I liked the swan club because of the beautiful gardens. I am in the big room too, which is a max of 230ish. The food is outstanding, and i liked the layout of the room.

I would have a tasting and go see both! I dont think you could go wrong either way

I agree with the above post about the Riviera the room is oddly shaped and when I was there I got eaten alive by the bugs at cocktail hour

I would got with Chateau La Mer their setup is much nicer and I love the floor to ceiling windows.

Kimmie, when I looked at CLM they offered us the big room with a low minimum and a low price. The two guys we spoke to are awesome - Nick and Lou maybe? When you and Rick are ready to sign or want a formal quote then take me with you and I will work my magic
