cheating and still getting married...

let me preface by saying this story is not about anyone who lives in NY...it is about people who live out of state, so don't worry...it's not about anyone who would post on this board.

FH and i went out a week ago w a group of his friends. there are a few girls in the group who i do not know that well but they are really nice and always include me in their conversations.

so they were talking about an upcoming wedding that one of the girls really doesn't want to go to. she said that the groom has a girlfriend who he claims to be in love with, and he says he is no longer in love with the bride. the wedding is in a month or two, and he is still going through with it.

i asked the girl why he is still marrying her and she said because the wedding is all paid for and he feels like he has to. and he made a comment about all of the money in gifts they are going to get and that he can't pass that up.

can you believe it?!

as much as i love FH and want to spend the rest of my life with him, if i knew that he met someone else and was in love with her and didn't love me anymore i wouldn't want to be with him. it hurts to think of something like that happening, but if it did i would want to know and i wouldn't want to get married.

why would someone do this? i have been really upset ever since i heard this story. i can't imagine someone doing something like that for the GIFTS! what is wrong w people?!?!
