Circuit City
Has anyone bought anything from here? Are they good? I heard a few storied of people having trouble returning. I want to buy a home theatre system for FH and they have a good price for the one I want.

Re: Circuit City
According to their commercial on TV they are supposed to have a 'no hassle' return policy, no receipt needed

Re: Circuit City
Circuit City used to have an outrageous restocking fee - it you tried to return anything, for any reason, they deducted something like 15% from your refund for 'restocking'. I believe they did away with that after a LOT of bad press.

Re: Circuit City
my fh for some reason likes circuit city a lot more than best buy, he said it is easier to shop there. We have not had to return things so I can't comment on that. sorry

Re: Circuit City
I remember someone telling me not to shop there because they don't let you return things for a refund.

Re: Circuit City
We have purchased alot of things from Circuit City. We def like it more than best buy also for the same reason...easier to shop. Haven't returned anything yet so I really don't know about the refund policy.

Re: Circuit City
They just changed their policy... and they price match,... Best buy has now a 20% restocking fee. So circuit City will match the price and you can return it with no hassles...

Re: Circuit City
What exactly is a 'restockingfee'? does that mean if you return it you don't get all of what you paid back? I'm confused

Re: Circuit City
Beth: I bought FH a home theater system last Xmas and got it from Sears. I had found it cheaper on the internet but wanted to buy it from a store just in case FH didn't like it. So I went to Sears with the internet price and they matched. You should try it.Good Luck!

Re: Circuit City
Yeah if there's a restocking fee, you don't get the full amount back. They charge you to take it back. I know, it's crazy!

Re: Circuit City
I just bought a cell phone from them and the next day it was $50 cheaper at Best Buy. I went back to Circuit City with the flyer and they gave me back the difference (plus $5 b/c they give you 110% of the difference) no questions asked.I think that the people who work there are much more helpful than Best Buy.

Re: Circuit City
We have had such HORRIBLE experiences at BestBuy trying to get sales help so ended up going to Circuit City last year to buy a new flat screen bigTV. Since they work on commision, they were SO helpful. The TV we wanted was out of stock so they gave us a better model for little over the price of the one we wanted. I never heard of the restocking-fee, though.

Re: Circuit City
We shop at circuit city all the time, from TVs to cameras to computer games and found the prices and service very good. They use to have a restocking fee but got rid of that about a year or so ago.

Re: Circuit City
PC Richards doesn;t have the one I'm looking for. I'll check Sears and then go to CIrcuit City tomorrow. I'm hoping I get the right one and he doesn't need to return it anyway
That's the problem with surprises!!!!

Re: Circuit City
I got him the Sony one too. The black one. I also spent $400. They have the same one in silver this year and it's more expensive (I'm assuming because of the color
