Re: Clear Channel drops the Howard Stern show

And the religious right who has been blaming all of the world's problem on Howard Stern for years.

This morning, there was speculation on the show that Howard's recent comments about the President and the Republicans have something to do with it. I would hope that has nothing to do with it.

I am going to fall asleep in my car on the way to work if Howard is pulled from my local channel

Re: Clear Channel drops the Howard Stern show

You know...
Most people who are exposed to bad things in the world know how to filter them out...
But there are alot (especially impressionable children) who cannot do that...
Lines have to be drawn.
I'm not saying I don't enjoy HS sometimes...
But I'm an adult. An educated one who is pretty clear about what is right and what is wrong...I am able to take what I find amusing and leave the rest...
Others may not have that ability...
And that's where I think the problem lies.
Something has to be done.

Re: Clear Channel drops the Howard Stern show

first of all - children should not be listening to howard stern. period. it is a show designed for adults.

they are making howard pay for the crap that janet jackson pulled during the superbowl (which is known to be viewed by families).

there is a HUGE distinction between the two.

He is not cancelled in NY on 92.3 KROQ. Clear Channel doesn't own that one.

Re: Clear Channel drops the Howard Stern show

I was going to say this isn't a show kids should be listening to. But then I was thinking what young kids really listen to talk radio? Parents have to be the ones who don't turn it on in front of them.

Re: Clear Channel drops the Howard Stern show

Clear Channel is testifying in front of The Commerce Committee today in Washington. The CEO of Radio for Clear Channel is up there talking about indecency.
Clear Channel dropped Bubba the Love Sponge and dropped Howard Stern this week.
Most likely is is a response to having to go up in front of the committee.

Re: Clear Channel drops the Howard Stern show

Well I was wondering if they were going to do that. I figured since they fired, Bubba the love Sponge ( Tampa Bays version of Howard Stern) and his show was a clear channel show, I did not think they would keep Howard Stern on there roster.

Re: Clear Channel drops the Howard Stern show

PS, it's only 6 radio stations across the country that dropped Howard Stern. It's not the WHOLE show, like when Infinity canceled Opie & Anthony.
Howard Stern is owned by Infinity, not Clear Channel. Clear Channel only broadcasts them on 6 stations.

Re: Clear Channel drops the Howard Stern show

If I want my kid to listen to Howard Stern then that is my business, the FCC doesn't need to decide for me.

I would not let my kids listen to it, but why do others have to be punished since there are bad parents in the world.

But didn't they get dropped all over, since Infinity was the one that they worked for??

Re: Clear Channel drops the Howard Stern show

If britney and jlo are allowed to get up on a national statio and shake their bootie and be half naked, a man can be allowed to speak his mind. Why are they all censoring things that need not be censored, and not censoring the things they should be. I am sure more artists today do more damage than howard stern could ever do. WHy on earth did they cancel politically incorrect????????? I loved that show

Why the hell aren't they more proactive and not so reactive???????
