Clomid question

Can someone tell me what clomid is for. I took a blood test last week and it came back showing my progesterone levels were low. My doctor prescribed me clomid.

If you were on clomid, was it succesful in you getting pregnant?

Please help.

Thanks

Re: Clomid question

Your doctor didn't explain the medication to you? That's odd...I would consider seeing a new dr!

Clomid is a medication used to kick start the ovulation process...I think maybe it even lengthens the ovulation cycle - but I am sure some of the girls on here who have taken it can explain it clearer.

Re: Clomid question

He did not say anything, just told me to call him when I get my period. I called him and he said, that he took my blood at the right time and was going to put me on clomid.

UGH

Re: Clomid question

I took Clomid for 1 cycle and got pregnant. My doctor gave it to me to jump start my ovaries. Tomorrow, I find out just how much it jump started it - whether I'm carrying one, two or three embryos!!!!

Re: Clomid question

Clomid make you release more eggs,
so it increases your chances to get pregnant.

alot of Dr recommend it if you are not ovulating to jump start it,
but some also recommend it just to increase your chances of concieving if you are having trouble.

I am on my third cycle
and going to see a RE Thursday.

good luck

Re: Clomid question

Using Clomid may increase your chance of 'multiple' births. My wife is expecting twins!
