closed toe, or open?

I wanted open toe, but the lady at the store went on and on about how unattractive it is when the dress shifts and all you see is toes.
Is this true? I did not think so. What is everyone else doing?

I am wearing open toed shoes, becasue I am not wearing stockings, and I like them much better.
