I wanted open toe, but the lady at the store went on and on about how unattractive it is when the dress shifts and all you see is toes. Is this true? I did not think so. What is everyone else doing?

Re: closed toe, or open?
Definitely open! I'm getting married in july. If I wore closed toe then I would have to wear stockings and that is just not going to happen!

Re: closed toe, or open?
I saw the cutest sandals today that were on sale for $15. I almost bought them, but they were uncomfortable and my friend talked me out of them.

Definitely go for comfort, whether it's open or closed toe. You are going to be on your feet all day!

Re: closed toe, or open?
I am getting married a day after you, and am definatley wearing closed toes. I told my bp they can choose any style of shoe as long as they are closed toes. Remember all girls have different feet and may not all select the same style. I feel in the pictures they would look more elegant. I don't want to see pink, lime, blue etc. toes in my pic's Pluse October will be colder, I checked and the advarage temp is 62 degrees. Just my opinion

Re: closed toe, or open?
I don't think I am going to specify what shoes my girls should wear. I don't think I care. I want them to be comfy- I more comfy in open toe but some people are not. As far as closed toe- i can not get into the pointy toe thing. I think it looks cute on others, but I feel like they look weird on me.

Re: closed toe, or open?
The shoes I selected are not very high, pointy or sexy, I found sort of round in the front and they are sling back, so they are a compromise. Like you I want confort because I want to dance alot!! I know some girls get two pairs, one for the pictures, and the others for the reception, just in case.

Re: closed toe, or open?
I was thinking about getting those ballet slippers to change into- but how would that work with my dress length? I only plan on wearing a 2-3 inch heel, but those slippers are totally flat.

Re: closed toe, or open?
I wouldn't do that. Your dress is going to drag on the floor.

Re: closed toe, or open?
What about some sort of platform shoes? That'll give you the height, but can still be comfortable.

Re: closed toe, or open?
I am used to wearing high shoes- I usually do. (I have a short complex ) FH is short, and with my high shoes I am taller than him. (I am 5'2', he is about 5'7') He does not want me taller than him that day, so I am limited in shoe height.

Re: closed toe, or open?
There is a style of shoe called the Mary Jane style, and they are high 2-3 inches, with a thicker heel for support and a strap in the front. Maybe they might be a choice.

Re: closed toe, or open?
If you are comfortable in heels, then you have nothing to worry about. There are plenty of pretty shoes out there, especially if you have 5 inches between the two of you. Don't worry.

I found a lot of really nice, reasonably priced shoes at Sandy's in Massapequa. Don't worry. You will find something!
