Hey all! Has anyone heard of Commack Wedding Center. I heard of them and received mail from them. They seem to have good deals! But, I wonder if there is a catch...
Any Info would be much appreciated!
TIA

Re: Commack Wedding Center
you sound like me when i first started planning! FH and i booked with them one of their all inclusive pkges. but i have to admit, i had a feeling about them that i just couldn't shake. we didn't have much $$ to work with at first, and i figured getting a pkge would be good. they were VERY pushy about booking the pkge and telling us that we would NEVER find anyone cheaper for the pkge contents. (um, yeah we sooooo did) plus i found that they liked bad mouthing other vendors and such.
after awhile, i just couldn't shake my 'feeling' and i started reviewing pics from brides who'd used them, and i just did NOT like them at all. then i ready like 3 negative reviews...and i was done. we cancelled our contract with them..and even though we lost a little bit of money...my piece of mind was worth it.
one thing i've discovered thru this site, you CAN find a quality vendor even if you are on a tight budget. once i cancelled TWC, within a week or two i rebooked my photographer, florist, DJ, limos, etc and i now have confidence in them!
sorry this went on and on, but just had to give my 2 cents worth as someone who has and IS dealing with them. (they are still doing our video, cause we couldn't afford to lose both our photo and video deposit and go elsewhere)

I suggest doing a search on here. They don't have the best reputation here. I'm sure there were brides who were happy with them and had no problems & it seems convenient but with some time & research you can find other vendors with comparable prices and not as many negative reviews.
ooh well my friend who had them shoot her wedding did not like her photos.

I don't know about their services, but I did go there with one of my BM's when I was still dress shopping. They carry a lot of the popular designers and have a very nice collection of dresses to try on.
HOWEVER, they only let you try on a certain number of dresses at a time (4 or 5) even if there's no wait, the ladies, in my opinion, are rude (for example, I commented to my attendant that every dress that the girl in the next room tried on looked beautiful and she said 'oh her, she's a pain in the assss' EEEEK! Who says that? - also another attendant was yelling at a bride who had already purchased her wedding dress and numerous bridesmaids dresses, so loudly that everyone in the store was just staring).
Anyway, that was my experience there and I've read many other reviews that say the same thing. I've also read reviews from ladies who bought their dress there, so it can't be all that bad I guess. I just personally wouldn't spend my hard earned money at a place where the employees trash the customers and treat them like that, but to each their own. I would say to go there and try on any dresses that you're interested in, but purchase elsewhere.

Re: Commack Wedding Center
just to add my opinion..
I went there to buy my maid of honor dress for my cousins wedding.. another cousin went with me and when we were being measured they said to me.. oh you are too big for that dress it won't look right.. and to my other cousin who is a size 8 by the way they told her that her butt is too big so she needs to order 2 sizes bigger..
SOOOOOOOOOOOO RUDE!!!

I didn't get any dresses there so I don't know how they are for that. But I was going there tomorrow to order my favors from them. They have the favor I want for a good price, plus they wrap it and put a personalized ribbon on it.

I'm going there tonight for the first time to look for a a dress for my mother. I heard they had a large selection of designer dresses and great prices. They do many packages for great prices, I think you can get photogtaphy, videography, favors, flowers, dresses, alterations, music for 5K. At least that's what the owner told me when I was at the Milleridge bridal showcase a few nights ago. He seemed professional and friendly.

My sister went there very early on in her planning. I was less than impressed and we decided not to use them.

Re: Commack Wedding Center
Ok so I went there before I joined LIWs so it was my MISTAKE.......I ordered my dress there because it was a couple of hundred dollars less there then anyplace else and my dress was well over $1000 so I didnt want to pay much much more.....anyway..they have a GREAT selection of dresses. There customer service is HORRIBLE....all the ladies there are SOOOOO RUDE except for one person. I plan on writing them a letter and or calling them as soon as my dress is out of there next week because they are just horrible and they do not need to get business from good people like us.
Just so you know I only went to them for the dresses, I dont know about the video or photo area so my opinion is about the people in the dress area.

Drove all the way to commack and literally walked in a walked right out - it was a crowed mess in there. Reminded me of people running around a liquidation sale!

Re: Commack Wedding Center
I ordered my invitations from them and they were great. The staff that does the invitations and favors were extremly helpful - I worked with Sharon and she was extremly helpful.
I have gotten BM dresses for 3 weddings. and yes, their customer service is lacking, but you are getting a much cheaper price, so I guess you have to decide customer service or price.
I didn't purchase my gown there because I felt when I am paying this much money I want someone to help and take care of me. I want to make sure the dress fits, etc.
I was also nervous about booking a whole package because it seemed like all or none with the vendors, etc. Either it would be great or I would be diappointed, good luch

Re: Commack Wedding Center
they have a selection of everything there- bm wear, gowns, shoes, rings, tuxes, etc. The prices were lower than some, but still rather expensive compared to others (i.e. two of the dresses I liked were cheaper at bridal elegance, and burtons). The gown woman helped but wasn't so friendly, and no one else even said a word to me in any other department in the store. Overall I wasn't impressed.

I would not use them unless you have your own seamstress for alterations--- I have heard bad things about their department... My mom ordered her dress from them 2 weeks ago & its already in-- but she is going to use a tailor in her neighborhood instead.
Their prices for dresses are great-- Definitely cheaper than anywhere else-- and if its not-- they will price match... SO if you are on a budget I would consider them.

Re: Commack Wedding Center
I got a very good price on my wedding gown there, and they were extremely nice to me and didn't try to push any other services on me. OTOH, I was getting a migraine (nothing to do with the dress shopping) and I probably looked really sick and they wanted to get me out of there! They didn't carry my gown in stock, but I called around and they matched the best price I found from an actual salon (not an internet rock-bottom price, which was fine with me.) I was impressed that they carried a selection of larger sizes of my gown maker, Casablanca, so I could try on the sizes and figure out which one fit me best. I had tried on my gown at RK Bridal and all they had were size 10s-14s, nothing bigger, and they certainly didn' t have an example of each size from each manufacturer in stock, even though they have plenty of room.
So, yeah, be careful, but I had a good experience with gown shopping there. And I generally think that you're better off negotiating with each vendor separately than getting a package. You may save a few dollars, but you'll be happier going with individual vendors you like.

My cousin used them and was unhappy. She told me to not even think about using them. She had problems with her dress and video people. They were never very helpful or accommodating.
