Concerts - which was the best you've ever been too
I've been watching Cher on tv and on the American Idol thread 2 girls and I were talking about Cher. One said she saw her in concert and loved her.
Which was the best concert you've ever been too??
For me it was Billy Joel. I traveled to Connecticut to see him. He was amazing.
Close up there was way back I saw Boyz II Men. My boyfriend at that time his father is a big shot lawyer and knows Boyz II Men's lawyer and got us 3rd row center stage tickets.

We went to see NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK on July 20th 1990 for my cousins birthday - even though we all had NOSEBLEED SEATS we had a great time shouting until our voice was gone!!!! That and the fact I was within distance of JON KNIGHT!!!! What a hunk

Any of the 45 Phish concerts I've been to! I just love them.
I also love seeing Billy Joel. Although the last time I saw him at the Garden he was too drunk and sounded terrible.

Probably a draw amongst these shows:
Cher (7th row- Nassau Coliseum) Metallica in Rochester Faith Hill/Tim Mcgraw at MSG
What can I say, my musical taste is beyond what you'd call diverse!

Olgaki: I went to 2 NKOTB concerts and the first one I went to I had horrible tickets. I was behind the stage and off to the side and I saw their backs most of the night. But it was a NKOTB concert and I didnt care.
The second one I had better seats. they were good back in the day

Re: Concerts - which was the best you've ever been too
I saw Toni Braxton in concert and she was really good. Not what I expected.
Billy Joel will always rank number 1 for concerts that I have seen.
I havent been to a concert in so long.
I was suppose to see REM Sept 99 but I got into a f-ing car accident on my way to pick up my friend (thank god i wasnt hurt) but between all the paperwork and the police report I would have wound up missing half of REM if i wound up going out to Jones Beach. I am very very very very mad about that. I wish they do a concert, I'll sleep outside ticketmaster if I have too to get tickets.

Allman Bros at the Beacon Theatre. I got so drunk and listened to great music. Oh what a night!
Also on the PG level - I saw N*SYNC with an 11 year old @ Giants Stadium. I felt so cool

Chippa, I saw REM at the garden a few years back (ok, a little more than a few), but they were pretty terrible. I can honestly say it was one of the worst concerts I've been to, sadly. I was a huge REM fan, and I was so disappointed. Michael Stipe was actually holding papers, reading the words to the songs. I was like wTf? If I can know all of the words to all of the songs, so should you buddy!

My favorite was a concert with Billy Joel and Elton John on NYE one year. It was awesome!!!
And all the Depeche Mode concerts I went too (especially Jones Beach). I listen to their live cd every now and then to stroll down memory lane hehe : )

Someday: really that stinks I am a huge REM fan. I was so mad I didnt make it to the concert. I was bummed out for days and would blast the CD over and over.
I told FI we have to have at least one REM song played at the wedding.

Re: Concerts - which was the best you've ever been too
BJ on Millennium NYE was a total blast, as was the concert he did with Elton John at Rich Stadium in Buffalo in '94, I think it was... I just love BJ.
But I think one of my other absoulte favorite concerts was the first year I lived in NYC, right out of college. A friend and I waited for free tickets for Annie Lennox in Central Park...it wasn't one of those big concerts, though, it was in a much smaller venue and the tickets were very limited. There was an opening act, but they wouldn't say who. So we got our free tickets and after work went to the park and while we were waiting to get in heard who the opening act would be...Sarah McLachlan! One of my absolute favorites!! It was a beautiful summer night and we sat there on a blanket under the stars listening to these two fabulous women sing. There wasn't a bad seat in the place and it was one of the most fantastic concerts ever. And it was free!!!
