*one taken a dump in the middle of the airport
(this seems to be pretty common among travelers) She said they just squat and let it all hang out
* another man blew his nose into his hand and then threw it on the floor
* anohter man tried to check in a suitcase filled with DOODIE-he stunk up the whole place

I was so skeeved out, what the hell is wrong with people

AND dont tell me about cultural differences because I will come to your house and take a crap on your front lawn

Umm...the point was that if it's cultural it's b/c they don't know about toilets. Building them in the villages around the world would make it a norm.

What does a vet or a kid have to do with this? Are you saying that people who live here are more worthy than people who live elsewhere? Poverty elsewhere is like something you've never seen...obviously.

JUly ok, if I my kid was starving and so was someone elses kid

I would feed my kid first

Thats their point. We have people sleeping on the streets of NY, and people sleeping on the dirt of africa who should we feed

And if we have enough to go around why so many poor people in our country?

What are you talking about I live here not there , I would rather help a kid with a deformity get well rather then help some person who is so intent on coming here get a toilet so they no not to crap on the floor I send them my sunday paper that is how I trained mY dog. Hands down I would help out here first, we are so intent on helping everywhere else hey people are suffering here to !

Wacky, I think you need to travel around a bit I think the behaviour which you described in the first post is quite disgusting, to the extent of being unbelievable. But I don't think blaming immigrants for that is fair...

I posted what a friend who works in the airport has to deal with, this is what happens in JFK. It is done mostly by immigrants.

Actually only 1% of our total expenditures goes to helping out other countries... the majority of the $ does stay in this country. You want to help people here- stop voting Republican.. Bush is intent to rip apart the social safety net as we know it.. but then again- what does it matter to him- he has tons of $

But YES that's what Im saying. To ME an American does rank higher my social conscience in regards to charities than a third world country (read that CAREFULLY before replying).

We really can't cure the whole world all at the same time. It has to start somewhere. If you keep looking outside to correct the evils, your home will become infested with evil itself.

How is it we feed those people but starve our own children? And I dont HAVE to go to another country to see poverty I lived it myself. ANd don't tell me others had it worse unless you've never sucked on your own fingers for salt and held your stomache in pain. Pain and suffering is individual for each person. You could have put me in a Mansion and wash my butt with pure gold.. if you're starving and hungry.. it doesnt matter WHERE you are in this world. If you're starving and sick and cold then you're suffering. What Im saying is.. I want to help those closer to HOME where the effect is greater.

Want to feed more americans.. lets call in all our debts overseas.. whoohoo wouldnt THAT be fun.. but NO that would take away our precious funding for those overseas who suffer.. not even *I* want that.. but still 1% is a LOT of money.

I think you need to do a bit more political research there- Clinton did way more for domestic policy than Bush has. Since 9/11, Bush has been almost totally focused on international policy, running up the national debt, and not doing anything about spiking unemployment rates. Under 2 terms of Clinton, our national debt was reduced and laws like the family leave law were passed. Domestic issues were taken care of. You say we should look after our own country first, the critisize Clinton for cutting military spending to put the money back into our own country by closing some military bases... that is contradictory...
